28 Days/Weeks Later:Zombie Movie?
The great (useless) debate is on!
Should 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later be counted as "Zombie Movies" even though technically they are not Zombies? There is some definite Zombielike activity amongst the infected. Lllllllllllets get ready... to SHAAAAAAMBLEEEEE! <ding ding> |

It's not the standard Brainsssssssssssssss but the infected are just basically another type of Zombie. I voted other. Although the definition of "zombies" has changed over time, I believe one consistent aspect has always been that they are the "living dead". So technically, people infected with a rage virus are not zombies. However, I think the savage cannibalistic behavior of the people in 28 Days Later is so zombie-like that it is basically a zombie movie. Hence why it was in my original zombie movie poll.

I've read a few early voodoo Zombi stories that they weren't necessarily always dead when they were made into thralls, too. |

That would definitely broaden the definition of zombies, then. “By the time I realized the danger, it was scratching at my front door.” ― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War |

RE: 28 Days/Weeks Later:Zombie Movie?
I didn't really like Weeks but a lot of people do. I don't even really like Days.... but it definitely qualifies as a zombie movie. They both make me feel uncomfortable and icky. Many zombie movies fail to do that these days. Successful Zombie points!
