Alice in Wonderland 3D
We went to see ALICE IN WONDERLAND 3D tonight.

I felt it was only okay. I actually wish Burton had just done Carroll's original rather than the "sequel" take.

Saying that Mia Wasikowska was very good and so were most of the cast, it was just that I came out feeling a little flat.

Kath summed it up best, visually wonderful but a very empty story.

7/10

On a side note, is it just me or does the 3D effect make the films look very drab compared to say the screenshots in mags etc.?

I thought Avatar looked drab and I thought Alice was a bit too dark.

Anybody else feel the same?

RE: Alice in Wonderland 3D
I was actually disappointed it wasn't more 'Burton-esque'. All incarnations of AIW are full of surreal characters and settings, so I really expected Burton to go way over the top. Instead, I didn't feel it was all that different from what has come before. For the record, my favorite version of AIW is Jan Svankmajer's Alice. Now THAT is unforgettable.

If my planet were a superball, I'd be its' mighty King.
But ruling over rubber probably doesn't mean a thing.
