Attacked at see rule question
Ok so we are playing the other night.

Player 1.Casanova Frankenstein is moving through the amazon falls,
across the sea, to the small city space at the bottom of africa (it
had a auction house there).

ok so

Player 2. Captain Amazing plays the card "Attacked at sea" i might
be wrong on card name, but the description said something like, "play
this on a player in a "sea space" move them to an adjacent area
and their turns immediately ends.

this is where things got fuzzy for us...

so player 1. Casanova Frankenstien throws a map down on the table,
witch says he can ignore terrain icons.

then a 30 min discussion went on about if his map would even be a
counter to the attacked at see card, if he could have even played it
bc his turn immediately ended.

Casanova thought his card would negate Captain Amazing card, bc
hes negating the sea space.

(my thought were, ok youre char. is negating the sea space terrain
icon, but the person playing the card isnt, it just says play on someone
in a sea space. Now although Casanova could ignore the terrain icon,
doesnt mean he isnt in a sea space, wicth to me would imply, his map
is not a counter to the "attacked at sea" card played by Captain
Amazing)

ok so if you were in agreement that Casanova would ignore the Terrain
space and is a counter to the "attacked at sea" card

Its says on the "attacked at sea card" blah blah, move char. to adjacent
section and their turn immediately ends. Witch to me would imply his turn
ends and he could not have played his "map" card, witch is a "gear" card
to counter. I do think though, if he had a grey "event" card that negates
other "event" cards (witch is what the attacking card was) it would
have been a acceptable move and counter.

so anyway, just wanted some experienced players views on the matter.
like i said, we stopped the game for like 30-40 mins aurguing about this,
ended up flipping a coin and and saying that he did counter the card.
none of this was me in the game, i was a bystander, and i did not agree
with the decision. So please gives me any input you may have.

RE: Attacked at see rule question
I actually think we came across this one in a game some time ago. Since the Map states
Quote:Discard to ignore all Terrain Icons in your Space until the end of the Game Round.
and all sea spaces have a Sea terrain icon, I would say that it negates the Attacked at Sea card.

Maybe your boat was stuck on a small island in the middle of the ocean or better yet, it is a map. You can argue that the map helps you keep your course.
