RE: Building and Character ideas for your games
Re: Library, Antiques, Journalist... that's what I get for posting from work.
I know the arcade is a bit dated, but for whatever reason my Woodinvale seems to be permanently stuck in the late 70s/early 80s. Must be because that's when I was most influenced by zombie films. Anyway... more content! Buildings Disco (yeah, it's "That 70's Zombie Show") Fancy Restaurant Ice Skating Rink Miniature Golf Course Newspaper Office Radio/TV Station Shriners/Knights of Columbus/VFW/etc. Hall University Characters Lawyer Pinball Wizard (gotta justify that arcade somehow!) PTA/Soccer Mom Well-Meaning But Misguided Activist Who Probably Started It All Somehow "Do you like psychology? I don't. I used to think the human brain was the most fascinating part of the body. RE: Building and Character ideas for your games
here are some rough ideas for charaters I've been thinking about.
Plumber: starts the game with a pipe wrench or a lead pipe Electrician: can cacel any lights out Cat burgler: can enter and exit buildings through walls Gambler: May search twice but zombie player draws two cards Bouncer: When wins a fight may throw zombie up to two spaces Psychic: May look at the top card of hero deck or zombie deck and may put that card on the top or bottom of the deck. |

RE: Building and Character ideas for your games
Nudity and the Last-Night-on-Earth kind of thing has always been an inevitable encounter in most B-movies - leading to certain doom for those involved. Well, they asked for it darn liberals ! Draggin us all down with their free-thinking.. arrghhhh ! [sound of skin and muscle being brutally torn apart]
So, what about a strip club? Or an adult toy store where the business owner Harry 'The Hachet' will take a swing at the nearest zombie with a big black rubber ... [beep] Alternatively, a wooden outdoor toilet like the one in the movie "Dead Snow" would be great since it offers both a comfy seat for the Heroes as well as a Spawning Pit for the rest of us! RE: Building and Character ideas for your games
I love the Casino idea. My suggestions would be a center board Wal-Mart type department store, with the different depts having different bonuses. Maybe a jail, where with Keys you could lock yourself in but be unable to search, zombies would have to roll to break through the bars. And a car dealership, with decent search bonuses, but you run the risk of setting off car alarms.
For characters, I actually don't want to see the townspeople be playable, I like that they feel seperate to the heroes. Since half are teens, I would suggest the comic book or horror movie fan--who knows what zombies are(usually characters inzombie movies don't). Or a hardcore gamer who is living an FPS fantasy--actually good with guns but takes too many risks. I like the biker and martial arts instructor suggestion.s, some good ideas here. |

RE: Building and Character ideas for your games
Has anyone ever tried to do a shopping mall? I could see it as being more long than square, and probably be just a map in and of itself. Maybe as another expansion?
Here's an interesting character idea I think. Paraplegic. Wheelchair Bound - Character has movement reduced by 1 to a minimum of 1. But can use the wheelchair to ignore taking a wound on roll of 5+ or something along those lines maybe. If you are reading this you are already too late... |

RE: Building and Character ideas for your games
Not a bad idea. Unless its the wheelchair from Silver Bullet, then its roll a D20 for movement What about a pregnant woman? She might have some tenacious skills, but for everytime she takes a wound, she rolls against becoming an zombie--each wound risks killing her baby which would infect her from inside?

Maybe as another expansion? Someone actually did turn his childhood Mall Madness into a LNoE variant on BGG. Haven't tried it myself but it does sound quite fun.
