Do or Die - Showdown with the Werewolf
This is a mini game report capturing just the Showdown between the Heroes and the Villain. In this game, I was using the Shadowbrook and The Coast gameboards (table is not big enough to host all three...).

The Heroes:
Katarina, The Outlaw: She has Endurance, is wearing the Woodsman's Overcoat, and is armed with a Cutlass and a Musket with Silver Shot. She is also suffering from the full effects of the Curse of the Werewolf, and is a Werewolf Hero.
The Scarlet Shadow: He is armed with a Weathered Oar and has Healing Herbs. He has found allies in Jack, the Servant Boy and Ben, the Watchman.

State of the Game:
The Shadow track is at 2. The Werewolf Currently has 7 Combat and 14 Wounds. There are two rats nests with full chains going from the Lighthouse and Icy Waters to the Town Square. If this turn reaches the Mystery Phase the Heroes will lose, since they have no chance at getting to the Nests to destroy them and prevent the shadow track from moving. Ready or not, the Showdown must happen now.

Showdown!
With both Heroes at full health, the Scarlet Shadow starts the Showdown at Town Hall. I chose not to bring any Town Elders to the fight, since I could not afford for them to die and move the Shadow Track two spaces. At the start of the Showdown, every dead Town Elder immediately joins the Villain as an Evil Elder. The Collector (Widow Jessica), The "Good" Doctor (Doctor Manning), and The Executioner (Magistrate Kroft) all join The Werewolf raising his stats to 10 Combat and 17 Wounds.

Round 1
The Werewolf vs The Scarlet Shadow
The Werewolf swings and only lands two hits to The Scarlet Shadow out of ten Fight Dice. The Scarlet Shadow targets and kills The Collector and The "Good" Doctor, and lands one hit to the Villain. He discards the Weathered Oar for +3 Fight Dice and lands one more hit.

The Werewolf vs Katarina
The Werewolf lands five hits, but the Woodsman's Overcoat absorbs two, and another was just a scratch.
Katarina uses Teamwork , Intuitive Hunch with Spirited Attack, and Tactical Strike to gain +9 Fight Dice in an attempt to unload onto the Werewolf, and deals seven wounds.

The Scarlet Shadow uses Healing Herbs to fully heal.

Round 2
The Werewolf vs The Scarlet Shadow
Redemption is played to try and have The Executioner deal a 6 Fight Dice attack against the Villain, but it fails.
The Werewolf lands two hits to the Scarlet Shadow. "Take Cover!" prevents the wounds(Play during a Fight Round to prevent all Hits a Hero would take on the D6 roll of 3+ each. If played during a Showdown, all Heroes and Town Elders involved may use this ability for one Showdown Fight Round.) The Scarlet Shadow kills The Executioner but deals no wounds to the Werewolf.

The Werewolf vs Katarina
The Werewolf lands three hits, two are prevented with Take Cover! and the last absorbed in the Woodsman's Overcoat. Katarina deals four hits.

Round 3
The Werewolf vs The Scarlet Shadow
With one wound remaining, the Werewolf unleashes a devastating attack on the Scarlet Shadow, knocking him unconscious with five hits and giving him the Curse of the Werewolf. Bestial Speed prevents a counter attack.

The Werewolf vs Katarina
The Werewolf now focuses on Katarina with another strong attack of four hits, enough to knock her out. The Over coat prevents two, and she Ducks and Rolls to prevent the other two. Avenging the Fallen, she gains +2 Fight Dice, and deals four hits, defeating the Villain.

It was a close call, but the Heroes won... nevermind the fact that they both have the Curse of the Werewolf... and The Coast is infested with Rats and being ravaged by Feral Kin... small details.

RE: Do or Die - Showdown with the Werewolf
Thanks for the report. I kinda like it when the showdown has to happen earlier than you would like because of the shadow track. It gives a sense of urgency to everything. The werewolve is a tough SOB. Glad you were able to put him down.

Nah, don't be so negative. The curse is lifted now that they killed the werewolf who infected them. The rats & feral kin will now flee since their master has fallen. Simple. You just have to think positiveZombie17
