RE: Gears of War Board Game overview.
just curious you play like just a few turns a day?
Or do these turns take a while to play, and you haft to leave the game where it is to come back to it?

(all together how much time went into 1 game?)

Just wondering how a solo game is?
From the little I read about it people really seem to like this game and it is only a co-op type game so im guessing it would play out the same way ,either you play with others or by your self, correct?
I was looking for a good solo game, could this be the one?

RE: Gears of War Board Game overview.
POD-Solo is great-it has solo rules using 1 Cog,but due to the AI Mechanic you could play Solo
all 4 Cogs Solo,it scales from 1-4.You would just have to keep track of all 4 Cogs Cards,weapons/ammo
(which is not a big deal it's a very streamlined system.

Pred-we usually play 3-5 turns a setting which ,is often
around 15 minutes.Sometimes right after work or later
after dinner. It's just a personal style we fell into.

I have a dedicated Game Room so no problem leaving
the Game up until we finish. I like to take notes
on each turn for Battle Reports so,it makes that easier.

FFG pegs the play time from 1-3 hours, the less players
the faster it goes.My first Game which was solo, playing
the recommended starter Mission "Emergence took
an hour, due to rules checking & my getting carried
away with combat instead of heading for the objective.
I used 2 Cogs.

The 2nd Game, also Solo using 2 different Cogs but the same
Mission took about 40 minutes,
each Game even if it's the same Mission is different,
as You generate diffrent placement for the tiles,
which in turn cause diffrent spawning areas &
equipment areas.

The Hive Game is one of the biggest Missions as
your using 10 tiles, was co op with each having 1 Cog,
altogether took 2 hours.

Again the Mechanics are such that you can run through turns
quickly,no bookeeping the Ammo is handled by a token system
thats placed on the weapon card.

It's a very fast paced game,a great job of catching the Vid Game
feel.

Right. I am seriously torn between this and Fortune and Glory right now. Could it be in the fates that I receive both for Christmas? Maybe my wife wants GOW for her birthday next month... and a "Homer" bowling ball. Insane20
