Heroic card clarification

Heroic cards states Limit 1 Heroic card per Hero.

Can someone please elaborate on exactly what this means.
If a Hero plays a Heroic Event card, then plays a card to retrieve any card from the discard pile, could they pick up and play that card again since its the same Heroic card?
Or is it that a Hero can only play one Heroic card per Hero per game and is a one time use?

I've tried searching the forums on here and BBG but I can't find anything explaining it. Sorry if this has already been discussed.

A hero can only have one of these active on them at a time. If they already have a Heroic card on them, another cannot be played on them (same or different name doesn't matter).

So they can use a Heroic Event card multiple times if they get it back from the discard pile, just not in the same turn?

Yes. Unless one's still active because it was a "Remains in Play".
