Stickies
Back in April when I knew I was moving I did some conversions
& black spray coated my Gears of war figures figuring I'd paint them
when I got settled in my new place.

Well it's August & the figures are still sticky , I spent a lot of
time and $ for extra GoW Games to get enough figures for
the conversions and don't want to ruin them.

So it doesn't look like the figures will dry out anyone have
suggestions on what to do? Can I just paint over them? Is
there a way to get them unsticky?

RE: Stickies
Hi OD,

I've heard of this happening before and I always stress. WASH your figures as part of the preparation. They will still have mould release on them. (Some companies are better than others at removing it). Sorry if you did wash them.Zombie20

As for getting them non-sticky, you're not going to like this, the only solution I can think of is: strip the paint off, clean and respray. Try it on one model and see what happens.

Failing that, paint them as normal but I think they'll always have that sticky feeling and whatever you do don't store them together or they'll stick together. Oh and dust will stick to them, big time. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and I hope you find a solution.

RE: Stickies
Well that sucks- yes I washed the figs & went over them with a firm toothbrush.
Stripping could be a problem as their conversions which might not survive the process.

I've had them stored in plastic containers which might not have allowed the mould release
to evaporate. I 'll try to just set them out & see if that helps any before doing anything else.

I know others have had this problem but this is the first time I experienced it.

No problem with the news it's about what I expected.

RE: Stickies
Wonders of Wonders, I left the sticky figs out on an open shelf
and they have dried outWatchmen02

Of course now I have to paint them (well after I touch up
from the basecoating - I must have been in a hurry I missed
a lot of areas.)

However I'm doing my Swamp Slugs & Hell Vermin for SoB now
& after that all the BL2 figs. I may get to drop them into my
painting schedule before I start the Cthulhu Wars stuff.
