Nice to know I just finished redoing the Game report &
posted it up.

I've used all 8 Heroes now so I can now do The Duffield report
using Marshal Dutton & Rancher Deliah Morgan.

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
The Duffield Report (Exploration Mission) Fluff is all complete so I just
need to play out the Game. The Game Report will be a little different
as the backstory calls for this to be written up after the fact rather
than turn by turn in real time.

I considering this a Portal Mine (per my Mine Users Guide) although
in this Mission you ignore Portals so I can add some more Creatures
(Hell Bats, Tentacles & Void Spiders) to the Threat & Darkness Cards Mix.
The Portal is closed but it has already attracted Void Creatures to the mine.

So if Fizzgaz drops back in to TZG he can get his more information on
"Blackwell's History of Arizona".

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
This Mission could take awhile ,I'm 13 Turns in & have only explored 1 room.
Most of this has been & endless combat with 5 Tentacles which has just ended.

You have to explore until you have all dead end rooms & so far I have 3 open
passages so I guess there will be a lot of doubling back involved. The Mission
Rules do provide a mechanic to close entrances that increases the chances the deeper
the Posse goes.

This Game I've already had 3 Depth Events & a nasty tendency to roll 2's for the
wound shots for the Tentacles & as their Defense is 2 they just hung in there.

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
Just kill me now ! The Game entering it's 53 Turn. To win you must
have no Rooms with open exits I thought I had a chance when I finally
had only had 1 more Room to find but alas I got a T-Section & the Room
it leads to has an exit.

The Darkness is within 1 step of breaking out so I guess it will happen &
end the Game.

(the Mission Rules have various rules to get exits closed but they have not
helped me. On the bright side God knows how many XP I've racked up
from all the Combat & Loot-I count my XP Cards at the end of the Mission)

OD

PS Well some Tentacles showed up & both Heroes got KO-so my first loss,
but I figure this one was probably going to be when I drew that last T-Junction.

At least both Heroes made it to Level 2

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
The Game Report is now up I'll still need to do the new stats for
the Heroes & their upgrades for Level 2.

I haven't decided on my next Mission but I think I'll try a Portal
Mission next as I think I have the rules fairly down. As my
Heroes are only Level 2 at best I'll still stay away from the Advanced
Rules.

I'm working on my 6th Adventure #4 City of the Ancients. I juicing it up a tad
by bringing it forward to 1935 & involving the Ahnenerbe. To answer the question is
Dark Stone Vril?

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
Well my Heroes made it to the Ancient City & found 1 of the clues they needed
right off the bat..but had to take on 3 snow Terrors in the process. So proceeding
with more wounds than I would like.

Discovered a Screw up in my Portal for Father Xavier Game, I gave the good Padre
too many Faith to use-somehow I missed the 2 starting Faith on his Hero Sheet .
I can't really adjust this one out after the fact but I'll probably just reduce the XP
for both to Zero as I am trying to level Up my Heroes each game.

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
I'm not sure any of my SoB Games have played correctly. Most of the time I've been able to go back &
correct things but still. Now in getting ready to do a Session Report I've found that on the 4th turn of a
13 turn Game I Explored a Corridor ! Which Gave me a Clue & an Attack by 3 Snow Terrors.

You can't easily unring that bell as this Game was a one off anyway I'll just back up to turn 4 & start over.

RE: OD's SoB Game Blog
It was fun while it lasted, but reality has reared its ugly head & demands some attention.
I'll not be gaming for awhile as I need to take care of business.
