Pick Up Locations
Hi Guys I am new to the game so go easy on me. I had a question about the Pick Up spaces in the game and how they are played...Do they mean that instead of using a search action inside the building the hero can choose to pick X item out of the hero deck instead? Do they have to be in a certain space within the building to pick up? And lastly once an item is picked up is it used up for the whole game or can multiple heroes pick up from that same spot?

Thanks! Zombie16

RE: Pick Up Locations
The pick up ability can only be used to pick cards from the discard pile, unless it's special rules say that you have do to do something diferente than an actual pick up.

Got it?

yeah can they use the pick up ability and search the building in the same turn or do they have to choose one? does it matter what space in the building they are?

RE: Pick Up Locations
Any space in the building. Pick-up instead of searching/moving.

RE: Pick Up Locations
you can always choose to search for regular items, if you happen to be in the Hanger bay, and there is a Flare gun in the discard pile. You can choose to use your search action, to either pick up a regular hero card, or use the pick up location bonus and get the flare gun

RE: Pick Up Locations
Location Pick Up = "searching" in the discard pile
"Searching instead of moving" = Picking a card from the Hero deck

I am the reason God stopped watching.

Does this mean if you pick up and item from discard you are not technically searching the hero deck therefore you can move into or out of the building on the same turn as the pick up?

RE: Pick Up Locations
No. You can do one of a few things during your Move Phase:
-Move (according to your dice roll)
-Search (draw from the Hero Deck)
-Use a building's Pick Up Ability (to draw the listed card from the Hero Discard Pile)

Rules in expansions add to this list of available actions, but for the basic game, this is it.

In the event of a Zombie Apocalypse please do the following:
1. Grab a buddy
2. Grab guns
3. Start shooting

RE: Pick Up Locations
Just to make things sure.

You may search INSTEAD of moving
And may pick up INSTEAD of searching.

If you can't move you can't search
If you can't search you can't pick up.
