Quick Ranged Attack question...

Does the Range on a Range Attack weapon include the Hero's space (or is that space the "zero" when counting the number of spaces)?

Something I wanted to clear up before me and my beginner group play again.

That space is zero, so you count from the first adjacent space.

Since this space is considered zero, is this also a forced hand to hand combat? I have been letting people shoot me point blank then if they missed they were allowed to go hand/weapon to hand. This seems a bit slanted but I have allays assumed this as "if I had a gun I would try to blow a zombies head off.... F yeah! " But this seems very powerfull....

Yes you can use a ranged attack on a zombie in the same space as the hero, then attack with melee if it survives (you would have no choice)!
Remember that turns go in Phases that must be completed in order. Phase 3 of the Hero turn is the Ranged attack when they would use a gun if they have it, followed by Stage 4 where they MUST Fight zombies in the same space using only hand weapons.
