The Anvils of Heldenhammer v Orruks
The Anvils use the Archaic Customs Aspect The Orruks use Gork Sayz Go There War Cry Difficulty. This time I'm using the d8 roll variant for the Orruks placement (any roll over 6 means no placement) As in Anvalor #1 the phase Gathering Resources for the Anvils means Pass. Also for structure each turn is noted by AoS month segements(Early/Mid/Late). ------------------------------------------------------------ The Orruk Tribes led by Gulgza Stoneklaw Gutstompas have terrorized & plundered the Great Parch for Decades but now the Orruk Chieftain ambition has grown. Gathering his horde on the Bloodshot Plain Gulgza intends to bring his forces South against the city of Hammerhal Aqsha. Fleeing desert tribes have warned the Grand Conclave of lords of the impending invasion & the Free Guilds of the City have been summons to the Academe Martial. The Lords debated on the wisdom of sending the Cities forces out to meet the Orruk Horde. The Conclave decided it would be too dangerous to send its forces off & risk stripping the cities defenses. The decision was made to keep the Free Guilds to man the cities fortifications & appeal to Sigmar for aide. Azyr- Sigmar & his Stormcast War Council review the Hammerhal Aqsha request for support against the Orruks & decide the best course of action would be to divert Gulgza's Horde before it reaches the city. The plan is to reoccupy the ruined fortress of Anvalor to the Hordes rear threatening the Orruks supply lines forcing the Horde to deal with the fortress before advancing on Hammerhal Aqsha.Sigmar chooses to send the Anvils of Heldenhammer the Chapters obsession with death often led to introspection & brooding so action in the field would be beneficial. Meadowswell-Early month-Anvalor The Anvils send a Liberator company into the ruined fortress SW District to begin their occupation. The Orruk rear guard notice the activity on the west of Anvalor & realizing the threat it poses sends 2 war clans to investigate. Meadowswell-Mid month-Anvalor The Anvil's reoccupation continues with the arrival of a Protector company. The Orruks send another war clan to the North of City. Meadowswell-Late month-Anvalor The Anvils aware of the Orruks surveillance set up Archaeological Post within the ruins to disguise their military build up. The Orruks are confused by the ruse & take no additional actions. Golden Harvests-Early month-Anvalor A company of Judicators arrive as the Anvils build up continues. Orruks send another war clan to the northern edge of the City. Golden Harvest-Mid month-Anvalor Build a Stronghold to strengthen their defenses. Gulgza now realizes the purpose of the Anvils build up in the City & knows he must deal with it before his Horde can advance on Hammerhal Aqsha. He releases a war clan to invest the East side of the City. Golden Harvest-Late month-Anvalor An Anvil Protector Company arrives to secure the Stronghold. Another war clan joins the Orruk forces on the East side. Thesh-Mid month-Anvalor Anvils are reinforced by a Ranger company. An Orruk Weirdnob Shaman takes up a position on the Cities Southern edge. Thresh-Late month-Anvalor The Anvils await more supplies for their growing forces. The Orruks make their move & attack from the Cities Western Edhe The Anvil Liberator Company launches an attack on the Orruk Mehaboss with support from a Protector Company. The attack fails.The Protector Company then attacks the Megaboss with support from the Stronghold & that attack also fails taking the Protector Company down. The Megaboss advances toward the Stronghold.Two Grout Spider bands advance in the North West. The Anvils Judicators Company launch a Volley at the Megaboss with support from the Strongold & take the Orruk Leader down.A Protector Company attack one of the Grot Spider Riders bands & destroys it. The remaining Grout Spiders attack the Protectors but don't make any progress . The Judicator Company unleashes another volley on the Grot Spider Riders with support from the Protector Company & the Grors go down ending the Orruk Onslaught.
