please explain the townsfolk rule (accusation)
in the rules it states that when you fight the big villian - you take 2 townspeople.

then you look at their secret - to see if they become "evil"

what is the point of another player making an accusation at the cost of 2 investigation points...if the person who is taking on the evil is going to find out anyway.

other than that point - everything else is easy to understand.
thank you.

RE: please explain the townsfolk rule (accusation)
Your reading the rule like OD did at first, like you accuse the chosen Town Elders
in the Hunting Party.Buts thats not right.

The Town Elders you accuse are the ones not chosen for the Hunting Party.
The point in a competitive game is that it can send another Minion to fight
your opponent when he is taking on the Villian.

If you already know the Elder is Evil then its a slam dunk,if your seriously
behind & your opponent is well set up to defeat the Villian & win its also
a good desperate effort on your part just to choose one & hope to get lucky..

If you accused the wrong Elder it can really set you back as you loose all
your Investigation.

When she's right,......she's rightZombie03

The Rulebook could be clearer here as its right
under the section dealing with choosing the Hunting Party,
its easy to think its the Hunting Party Elders they are refering
to,until someone calls you brain dead (her exact words:rolleyesWatchmen02 and explains it to you.

The funny part was in the game she knew an Elder
was Evil called him out when I had declared a
Showdown . But she had the Evil Elder confused with
an other & accused the wrong one:P

RE: please explain the townsfolk rule (accusation)
Is there a situation where a dead elder can actually be revealed to be in league with the villain (aside from a Lair card, like one of the Church cards)?

I.e., can a dead elder be accused?

RE: please explain the townsfolk rule (accusation)
I'm pretty sure you can still accuse a dead elder. Reason being because when an elder is "killed" their death is never 100% certain. If the elder is killed (turn their card sideways to represent they're dead), they could potentially have a secret that makes them evil. So if you accuse a dead elder and it turns out that their secret makes them evil, they automatically join the villain for the showdown. The theory is that the elder faked his or her death and was allied with the villain in secret.

So to summarize, I'm almost positive you can still accuse a dead elder! At least that's what I believe after reading some other posts on here and other sites pertaining to the whole SECRETS system.

You are correct P.15 of AToE Rule Book confirms this & your reasoning.
