TP: Blow Up the Town! Alderdust 120312
Scenario: Blow Up the Town! : Timber Peak is a lost cause. Heroes must find explosives and plant them around town, blowing up at least one building on each corner board — and then survive a turn in the center of town where the detonator is. Zombies must kill 2 Heroes, or last until the sun sets.

Board Sections (random): Power Relay Station (TP), Refinery (TP), Tavern (TP), and Hospital (TP)
Characters (random): Alice, Ed Baker, Survivor Sherriff Anderson, Survivor Sally
Starting Zombies: 7
Turns: 15

This was played only with the Timber Peak Stand Alone Expansion. No other sets were added.

Note: If a hero was not discussed during the turn they only performed a move action and did not search or fight.

Pregame:
Sherriff Anderson and Sally both start in the road out of town and both Ed and Alice start in the Diner. Ed started with the Melee Hero Upgrade: Knockback.

Turn 1:

Ed searches and finds Bandages.
Alice searches and finds Lucky Break.
Sherriff Anderson kills a zombie with the Police Shotgun. (Gains 1XP)

Turn 2:

ZP plays Relentless Advance.
ZP plays Outsider on Sally.

Ed searches and finds a Pick Axe.
Alice searches and finds Near Miss.
Sherriff Anderson runs out of ammo and the Police Shotgun is discarded.
Sally searches and finds a Pistol and shoots a zombie. (Gains 1 XP)

Turn 3:

ZP Fights Alice:

Alice plays Lucky Break.
ZP plays Vicious Attack.
Alice plays Near Miss preventing one of the two wounds. (ZP gains 1XP)

(This would have been tragic to have a hero die on Turn 3 luckily avoided this one.)

5 Zombies come into play.

Sally kills two zombies with the Pistol. (Gains 2XP)
Sally turns in 3XP for the Range Hero Upgrade: Reload.

Turn 4:

ZP plays Smoldering Dead.
ZP plays PI: Fire and places the new fire on Ed Baker but no harm done.

ZP Fights Ed:

ZP plays Pulled Away and discards Ed’s Pick Axe.
Ed takes a wound. (ZP Gains 1XP)
ZP plays Infected on Ed.

Alice searches and finds a Pistol.
Sherriff Anderson searches and finds Crate of Dynamite.

Turn 5:

ZP plays Lights Out on the diner.
3 Zombies come into play.
1 Fire spreads.

Alice kills two zombies with the Pistol. (Gains 2XP)
Sherriff Anderson uses move action to discard a dynamite token and plant an explosive in the bowling alley. (1 of 4)
Ed uses Bandages and heals a wound from Alice.
Sally kills two zombies with the Pistol. (Gains 2XP)

Turn 6:

ZP plays Outsider on Ed.

Alice shoots a zombie with the Pistol. (Gains 1XP)
Alice turns in 3XP for the Ranged Hero Upgrade: Sharpshooter.
Sally shoots her Pistol and misses.
Ed searches and finds a Chainsaw.

Turn 7:

2 Fires spread.

Alice shoots a zombie with the Pistol. (Gains 1XP)
Ed searches and finds Hero’s Strength.
Sally shoots two zombies with the Pistol. (Gains 2XP)
Sally turns in 4XP for the Ranged Hero Upgrade: Crippling Hit.

Turn 8:

ZP plays Shamble.

ZP fights Sally:

ZP plays Vicious Attack.
Sally uses Lucky Defense.
Sally takes two wounds and becomes a zombie hero! (ZP gains 2XP)
One Hero has been killed for the Zombie Player and 1 more Hero must be killed to win the game!

Nikki comes into the town center with the Signal Flare and the Pump Shotgun.

ZP turns in 3XP and gets the Zombie Upgrade: Mistrust.
4 Zombies come into play.
1 Fire spreads.

Nikki shoots ZH Sally with the Signal Flare and kills her! (Gains 1XP)
Sherriff Anderson throws some dynamite and plants an explosive in the Emergency Room of the Hospital. (2 of 4)

Sherriff Anderson fights ZP:

ZP plays Unrelenting Attack.
Sherriff Anderson takes a wound. (ZP Gains 1XP)

Alice shoots two zombies with the Pistol. (Gains 2XP)
Ed searches and finds Hopeful Discovery and takes the Fuel Can.

Turn 9:

ZP plays Shamble.

ZP Fights Sherriff Anderson:

ZP plays Endless Rage.
Sherriff Anderson takes second wound. (ZP Gains 1XP)
ZP takes Vicious Attack from the discard pile.

ZP Fights Nikki:

ZP plays Vicious Attack.
Attack is fended off.

Nikki kills a zombie with the Pump Shotgun but that was the last shot and runs out of ammo and is discarded. (Gains 1XP)
Alice shoots and kills a zombie with the Pistol. (Gains 1XP)
Alice turns in 4XP for the Ranged Hero Upgrade: Dead Eye Shot.
ZP plays Out of Luck but no gun is discarded.

Turn 10:

ZP plays “You’ve Gotta Be Kidding” – 4 Zombies come in at the diner.
(Ed was in the worst place at this time!)

ZP plays Terror at Timber Peak.
ZP plays Shamble.

ZP fights Ed:

ZP plays Savagery of the Dead.
Ed plays Hero’s strength and wins on a tie avoiding a wound.
Ed uses a Chainsaw on one zombie. (Gains 1XP)

ZP Fights Ed:

Ed uses a Chainsaw on another zombie. (Gains 1XP)

ZP fights Sherriff Anderson:

Sherriff Anderson fends off a zombie.

1 Fire goes out.

Ed fights ZP:

Ed uses a Chainsaw on a zombie. (Gains 1XP)

Alice shoots one zombie but the next shot the Pistol is out of ammo and discarded. (Gains 1XP)

Turn 11:

ZP fights Sherriff Anderson:

ZP plays Savagery of the Dead but no discard thankfully because the only choice was the Crate of Dynamite!
Sherriff Anderson takes his third wound. (ZP Gains 1XP)

ZP turns in 3XP for Zombie Upgrade: Starving Dead.
5 Cards are removed. (Samantha Radio DJ, Second Wind, Will to Survive, Extra Ammo, and Bandages.)
6 Zombies enter play.

Ed pours gasoline in the diner planting the explosive! (3 of 4)
Nikki searches and finds Bash Heads.

Turn 12:

ZP plays PI: Fire. Nikki takes a wound from the fire.

ZP fights Nikki:

Nikki gains her second wound.

3 Fires go out.

ZP plays Locked Door on Sherriff Anderson so he can’t get in the final building to plant the explosive!

Turn 13:

ZP plays another Locked Door on Sherriff Anderson preventing him from getting in that building another time to plant the dynamite!

Turn 14:

ZP plays Shamble.

ZP fights Sherriff Anderson:

ZP plays Unrelenting attack.
Both were fended off.

ZP fights Sherriff Anderson:

ZP plays Undead hate the Living.
Sherriff Anderson fends off the attack.

ZP fights Sherriff Anderson:

Sherriff Anderson fends off the attack.

ZP fights Ed Baker:

Ed takes his second wound from the fight and his third wound from becoming Infected. (ZP Gains 2XP).
Ed is forced to discard the Chainsaw.

Turn 15 (Last Turn):

ZP plays “Don’t go in the…” Random came to Zombies Choice and rolled building became the Train Station and it was overrun! 4 Zombies come into play.

ZP fights Ed:

Ed kills the zombie with doubles (Gains 1XP)
Ed turns in 3 XP points for the Hero Upgrade Card: Lucky.

ZP fights Alice:

Alice fends off the attack.

Ed pours out some gasoline planting the final explosive in the Train Station! (4 of 4)

Nikki fights ZP:

Nikki is standing on the center space for the detonator.
Nikki takes her final wound from the fight and dies. (ZP has killed 2 heroes and reaches Victory.)

Result: Zombie Victory

Hero of the Game: Alice she had 8 zombie kills.

# of Kills:
Alice: 8
Ed: 4
Sally: 7
Nikki: 2
Sherriff Anderson: 1
Zombies: 2

Weapon of Choice: Pistol (15 Kills)

Total Game Time: 1 hour 56 minutes.

Upon Reflection: Man to come down to the very last turn! What an exciting game! It all came down to that final fight between Nikki and the zombie blocking the lever for the detonator, if Nikki had fended off that attack the heroes would have won! It was tough early on for the heroes almost losing Alice on Turn 3. The heroes were hanging by a thread with 3 of the 4 heroes only having one wound remaining in the health boxes. The zombie card Vicious Attack seems to be the toughest in the new Timber Peak set and definitely gets the heroes running scared that you are going to pull it at any moment! The heroes got a lot of luck with two heroes acquiring the pistol and getting lucky to keep it for so long otherwise this may have been uglier. I do feel that if the heroes wouldn’t have drawn the crate of dynamite or the fuel cans that the next explosive card was a long ways down the deck maybe making it impossible to win so there is some luck to this one as with all the scenarios. All and all this is one of my new favorite scenarios because it gets the heroes moving all around the board and this seems to be a simple objective that has a lot of potential to create numerous exciting games!
