The Childern of Hurin
This has been out awhile but for any Tolkein fans.

Title: The Childern of Hurin

My wife picked this up (20% off)so I gave it a read.
Well of course I've read the the previous versions
but I guess Chris Tolkein has to eat(living in France
must be expensive) so why not?

DooM-just DooM Men,Elves,Dragons ,even the noble
Petty-Dwarves.Even the Incest isn't uplifting...read
this with a lot of wine people...A LOT of WINE!

Turin & Family make Paris Hilton's family look normal.
The man makes Elric of Melinbone look postive!
Speaking of Elric a lot of people have made a living
ripping off Moorcock but frankly I think old Mike
just may have got Elric from Turin. If Anglachel
isn't Stormbringer I'll kiss an Elf.

I did like the ending, hopeless Romantic that I am &
all in all depressing or not it was a good read.Returning
to Middle Earth is never a bad thing(especialy with a
goodly amount of wine).

RE: The Childern of Hurin
Having read the Silmarillion numerous times, I have a good background on the story. I haven't read The Children of Hurin though. Is it just an extended edition?

It does expand the story from what's given in the Silmarillion.
IMO it's worth the read even though you know the background.
