RE: The Colour Out Of Space Scenario
So played the scenario and we as the Hero's were torn asunder but we put up a good fight with Johnny and Sally making the last stand.

It was an all teen cast as Amanda and Billy joined them as well. Our mistake was not to keep moving and to fufill the objectives fast enough. I like the scenario and it is tough but not impossible especially if you focus on the mission. As far as it being easy to blow up the meteor...pfft good luck! The only way that will happen is if the cards are shuffled in your favour. Our cards seem to hate the players as both Johnny and Sally had Dynamite but nothing to light'em up.

The townsfolk were dragged pretty quickly to the centre of town and converted and it came down to one townsfolk left to turn before we lost (we had saved and used a few that saved our butts) but the unrelenting wave of undead and the Heroes unable to get the dice to go their way spelled disaster.

I really like how the scenario played out as is. One thing we thought about to slow down how quick zombies get the townsfolk to the meteor was that they cannot simply move through a buildings wall as they have to drag a townsfolk with them therefore they must use a door. This slows the zombies up enough to give the players a sporting chance of saving them and makes sense in the game and mechanics wise.

So awesome scenario!

RE: The Colour Out Of Space Scenario
Hi,

While waiting to play the new web scenario I just wanted to share the modifications we use in our group for The colour Out of Space scenario.
So far great times with lot of tension.

Colour Out of Space 2 :
Heroes Resplenish
Exploration Markers
Well stock-up buildings

Zombie Auto Spawn
Grave Dead Zombie (not N°5)

Objectives :
Zombies : Transform 6 townfolks into Gravedead or basic win conditions
Heroes : Plant 2 DYNAMITE in meteorite. Detonate the dynamite with a FIRE Item.
DRAW : no objectives met.

Search Items :
- Dynamyte
- any Fire Item

Items needed :
- Markers 1 & 2
- Exploration Markers
- Townfolk markers
- Meteorite

Start Up :
- Place Meteorite on at center of middle tile
- place Zombies as usual (2d6) but only normal Zombies. And One gravedead In the Center of the Town
- When rolling for ability of gravedead reroll if n°5. (usually we avoid N°6 too unless good heroes players)
- Place heroes as usual, and if they choose to start in the middle tile they can spawn on the meteorite.
- remove the townfolk event cards from deck and mahe a townfolk deck with them.
- Zombie player takes the townfollk markers and places them face down, without looking, one per building without heroes, in a empty square and not on a spawning pit.
- Place the exploration markers as usual

Special rules :

Reveal Townfolks
- To reveal a townfolk a hero must be on the same square as a townfolk marker and make a search. This search can be done even if the townfolk is grabbed by a zombie.
- Revealed townfolks are turned face up and will not be turned facedown for the rest of the game.

Grabbing townfolk
- A zombie that passes on a townfolk marker either revealed or not automatically grabs it, put the zombie on the townfolk.A grabbed and not revealed townfolk stays unrevealed
- A zombie can grab a townfolk during it's movement. A zombie can only hold one townfolk. The zombie can move as usual with the townfolk.
- Zombies don't exchange townfolks.
- At the start of one individual hero turn, if there is a revealed townfolk marker and no zombie grabbing it the player takes the corresponding townfolk card and put the townfolk marker on the hero card.

Dropping townfolk
- If a zombie holding a townfolk is killed he drops the townfolk in the square he was. If another zombie is in the same square he can immediately grab the townfolk.
- If a hero is killed : all townfolk event cards linked to markers the hero has are put back in the townfolk deck. For each marker roll a random building. The Heroes decide where in that building is placed the marker face up. The square must be empty and not on a spawning pit.
- If a townfolk event card is used the card is returned to the townfolk deck and the townfolk marker is placed face up in a random building on an empty non spawning pit square at heroes choice.

Setting Dynamite:
- A hero with a dynamite must spend a full turn planting it on the meteorite. No actions except fighting. At the end of this hero turn discard the dynamite and put a number marker on the meteorite.
- A single hero can plant only one dynamite at a time. But two heroes can plant at the same turn.

Destroying Meteorite
- Once 2 dynamites are planted on meteorite a heroe with fire item can detonate the dynamite during a ranged phase. Either by standing on the meteorite or at a range of 2. If not standing on the meteorit the hero must roll 2+ to succeed.
- The explosion kills everything on the meteorite and on adjacent squares, if this brings the total of heroes killed to 4+ the zombie player wins.

Transforming townfolks :
- At the start of zombie turn, a townfolk marker on the meteorite and with any kind of zombie on it is mutated to a gravedead zombie.
- The card "My god, He's a zombie" (see below)
- A gravedead spawning can grab a townfolk marker that would be on meteorite but it wouldn't transform this turn.

Maximun of Zombies
- The maximum is 14 as normal, but gravedead spawn are a priority, if there is 14 zombies and a gravedead must be spawned then remove the closest normal zombie to the meteorite(zombie choice) and spawn the gravedead.

Cards :
My God, he's a zombie : If this card is used successfully to cancel a townfolk event card, removes the townfolk and the townfolk event card from game and place a gravedead zombie on the meteorite.
Lizzy the shop keeper : if used the marker place the marker on the card, even if player is killed the card stays remains in play and the marker is palced in a random building. If the card is cancelled then lizzy will be placed as the rules state above.
Doc Brody : If played on becky do not roll for a random building, it is players choice when picking building to place the marker.

NOTES :

Some houserules :

- Start of a game : Heroes can't start with a scenario search Item or a card that make them fetch a scenario search Item.

- Closed doors (use of optionnal rule): Cannot be played on the church on the first zombie & heroes turn. (as usually in our games heroes don't have free open doors)
