Its not cheap, but some of the other games I have been looking at are 120 dollars.

I play LNoE often, and the diversity each expansion have given have been worth the price.

Nope it aint cheap, but I dont think its that expensive.

A pizza in Denmark is about 10 dollars. So... for 6 - 7 pizzas Ill get hours upon hours of entertainment, and socialising with my friends. Thats ok.

Cheerio,

Haha, I use Coca-Cola as currency sometimes..

What would I do with...

$1 - Buy a coke
$5 - Buy 5 cokes
$50 - Buy a video/board game, and a coke.

So if I had the opportunity to turn down 40 coca colas over 3 LNoE expansions, I'd go with the Zombie Game.

RE: The Podcast News
Yeah, these costs are all relative.

Big boy hobbies are quite often expensive.

For instance, my father-in-law has spent 700 dollars (and up) for a single 'Train engine' for his train layout.

My brother spend $1200 on a shotgun for hunting season...

My Father spent $20,000 on a decent fishing boat....

My brother-in-law spent $25,000 on a motorcycle....

My friend spent $75,000 on prostitutes, liquor, gambling and porn.

I think I can justify my 100 dollar cardboard fetish......

(note, not all of that is true.....)

Zalgo....he comes.

ATOE has some expansions released so give us some time to play and enjoy the new stuff before the next LNOE release and It would make sense to hold off on that until at least Halloween. Then see the Martian game release in the spring/summer.

Flying Frog are doing well and thus far I think they have made smart decisions. I think folks should get off their nuts and give them some slack. Not everyone can shit out product like FFG or Wizards.

Sometimes patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait. So I think there are a lot of people who need to just zip it and enjoy the game releases that are out now.

The rest will come when the Frog is good and ready to release them.

Mostly with CPB here.

I play ATOE and LNOE...I have no qualms with staggered releases. The qualms tend to come more when one plays one game and not the other.

I just bought Something Wicked and I have the Hero Pack being shipped...I have little need to LOOK at LNOE for a bit.

Of course, ATOE has rocked my face off, and LNOE has gotten kinda stale, so there's that.

These are great points that went over my head and I'm disappointed in myself that I missed them. Flying Frog is releasing stuff more than once a year... I'm just not interested in all of them. So if one is a fan of all-things-Frog and one has just bought all the new AToE stuff... one would appreciate a little time before anything new comes out. Again, this a great point and I must rethink my opinion on being critical of FFP for not releasing LNoE stuff more often.... BUT.....

Maybe I've cursed myself... but my point that in my gaming experience, gamers "attention span" in any one game lasts only 6-8 months has hit my table hard. A player's girlfriend's brother has discovered Magic... so he has dug out his old cards and his free time for gaming is now spent on Magic. Says he's just not into LNoE anymore. The other player who rode over here with player-No.-1, says that he too, just isn't as into LNoE as he was anymore...(but I think it's just because he lost his convenient ride)
Quote:Tommy Brownell: LNOE has gotten kinda stale
I really don't think that any new expansions now would even matter for my table. And I wonder if members here at TZG from when this site first started still play and even care about any new stuff. (Not any current, active members... those that haven't posted in many months.) Since the game is mine, I still plan on getting all the new stuff... there's just no hurry now.
I've tried to get other friends that have gamed in the past to try LNoE, but everyone isn't into the Zombie-genre. And when I mention "zombies", they're instantly turned off because in the past... we played Twilight Creations Zombies!!! to death. (Try as I might to drive home that LNoE is a completely different game... no one's interested.)

So I'm not saying that my opinion is the only correct one. I would have liked to have enjoyed the new SotF stuff and wish it was released earlier. I'm not saying that I won't play LNoE ever again... it's just that my current gaming group has collapsed.... right on schedule.

I think that is just as you say that the problem with most gamers and people in general they have short attention spans. They play a game for awhile and then bugger of to something else because they are either bored, don't like the game or they see something else really shiny. Others just get burnt out and need a time away from it.

However going back to Magic? That is sad in my own honest opinion. I could go on and on over my hatred for that game (and I was a magic player back when it first came out). I find CCG's such a waste of money. Ultimately it isn't about skill it is about who has the MOST money gets the best cards. But I digress.

And I would disagree on new expansions. I have found that a expansion sometimes is just the thing to get players back to the table. Ultimately I have issues with my gaming group getting together on a regular basis but that doesn't stop me from still purchasing new games and expansions when able.

Plus I look at it this way...

When my gaming group doesn't get together that just gives me more time to get minis painted so that when we do play they are excited and want to play. I have found that with FFG's DOOM board game. I painted all the pieces and the players want to play it all the time when we have the time.

Ultimately Flying Frog know what they are doing and with each release they will bring us back for more. I enjoy ATOE with the new expansions and it gets"caught up" with LNOE.

When the SOTF and the Hero pack is released for LNOE I will quickly grab them up. And then play the crap out of them until the next release comes. Then imagine the replayability with Maritans, Zombies, Carnival folk and Survival Heroes?

It equals AWESOME!
