They Came From The Lake
I've been working on a scenario today, as yet unplayed but just wondered what your thoughts are anyway

RE: They Came From The Lake
Ryuk Wrote:Just some thoughts/questions/problems I have...

1) In the Senario Objectives, you state that the Heroes must go to the Manor but this doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere else.

That was a change of idea I forgot to delete, i was originally going to have the Townfolk starting there, then thought "Why would they all be there" so changed it and gorgot to delete it.

Ryuk Wrote:2) One cannot move from tile 2 to tile 3. (I assume one may not move through the Lake.) Even using the 'Pinch Point' rules from the Senario "We've Got to Go Back!", only Students could go from one side of board to the other. This is a common problem when using variant tile placing. (It's possible for movement between tiles to be impossible.)

Again this is another forsight, my original idea was to actually have movement through the lake but decided against it without changing the tiles around.

Ryuk Wrote:3) There shouldn't be a reason for the Manor House to be chosen as a Random Building. I'm pretty sure the Manor House can't be chosen for a Random Building. (Page 5 of the FAQs.)

The manor house as a Random Building might have been interesting if I'd kept the idea of starting the Townfolk in there. Imagine if there were a few townfolk close by and i had a spawning pit in thereZombie03 I'm still in two minds whether to start all the Townfolk there, in which case it would work fine I think, but if I decide it doesn't work like that then it will need to be changed

Ryuk Wrote:4) I'm not seeing the reason for escorting Doc Brady to the Church. (I think you've got too many Senario Objectives.)

I somehow managed to delete a part.
It should state somewhere near the beginning that it was Doc Brody's ancesters that bult the lake over the graveyard and as he is the last surving member of that family, he will be targetted more than anyone else by the zombies as they seek revenge.

Ryuk Wrote:5) Hate to nitpick, but Mr. Hyde is the Shop Teacher- not a Banker.

This one is the simplest explanation of them all, I haven't a clue what is meant by shop teacher; is that someone who works in a shop (general stores) or a teacher (High School), I didn't think the latter was appropriate as we already have the principal in the School, so not being sure where he belonged I stuck him where I thought we needed someone.

Ryuk Wrote:6) I'm liking how the Townsfolk are moved with their hidden Token, (cool idea to be used in other 'find the item' senarios) but thinking it's a bad idea for the Zombies to be able to kill them.

I think this will only come out in play testing whether they can or should be killed, I have given them two wounds so they don't get killed too quick.

Ryuk Wrote:7) I like the 'Spawn out of the Lake only ' idea variant, (since one has to take the Bio Canisters there to stop the Spawning). But...

But... what?

Ryuk Wrote:8) Not getting the whole theme here though. Are the Townsfolk evil?... wanting to prevent anyone from finding out where the Bio Canisters are? Who made these 'anti-dote' Bio Canisters? Wouldn't someone say, "Hey, Mr. Duwally! Why the hell are you building a lake on the Graveyard? That's not cool..."

The only townfolk that is evil is the one that has been helping Mr Duwally, even then he's not really evil, he just trying to earn a few bob by some illegal dumping, but once he found out how bad the chemicals where, he started getting some chemicals together which would neutralise the effect.
As I've cleared up earlier, Mr Duwally didn't build the lake, it was their when he moved in. All he has done is use it as a dumping ground.
In the days when the lake was built, many centuries ago I doubt anyone would have questioned it too much, they'd have soon been paid off by the lord of the manor to keep quiet

Ryuk Wrote:Hope you don't mind and were looking for some criticism.

It helps to know where I've screwed up:shy:

I think I need to give more detail at the beginning of what is happening, and revert to my old idea of having the Townfolk start at the Manor

Thanks for your feedback
