Traitor To The Crown Series
Every so often My wife informs me that we need
to go to the book store (in this case Borders)
& pick up some reading matter for me.I think
she sees it as a way to keep me from hitting on her
when we're in bed:rolleyes:

So we went.I was lurking around the Fantasy/SiFi Section
& came across a series of 3 books based on the
American War for Independence by C.C.Finlay.

The Patriot Witch(I guess no hard feelings over Salem)
A Spell for The Revolution
The Demon Redcoat

The blurb says Life,Liberty & the pursuit of magicZombie03
At any rate as it was in AToE time frame ,I decided
to pick them up.A quick once over appears to include
a Hessian necromancer & a society of evil witches
called the Covenant backing the Brits. The Americans
are being helped by a ragtag group of local witches.

So is it any good?Stay tuned

RE: Traitor To The Crown Series
OK-I've read "The Patriot Witch" & a few chapters of
"A Spell for The Revolution" The verdict?

Well no one's got laid yet:rolleyes: that 1 & 1/4 way
through the series & so far only some intense head kissing
(thats head as on shoulder-Procter is kissing Deborah's
head(maybe its one of those old fashion NE things
like bundling(damn repressed Yankees).

Proctor (our Hero) has so far met Paul Revere,Israel Putman
& even George Washington(not bad for a dirt farmer).
The story does hold together & presents an accurate
picture of the times. It's a good page turner that keeps
you interested.

The blending of the supernatural & actual history is
seamless so it's obvious the author has done his
homework.So far it's been witches ,zombies &
scarecrows,so nice material for ATOE.

Now if someone will just get laidZombie17 I can really recommend
the series.

PS read another chapter-still no sex but they just had a run in with Nathan Hale.
This is becoming like reading King & catching the Lovecraft references

RE: Traitor To The Crown Series
sounds pretty interesting, i like things with alternate history and tuff like that. im writeing a script for a comic kind of similar about people with super powers in western/ old west times around 1870ish right after the civil war. kinda like that book you meet some people in history, coolest being tesla when he was around 20 years old.

when life hands you zombies, rev up your chainsaw.

RE: Traitor To The Crown Series
Get it done!!!! Finally p314/315 not only that they do
it in Betsy Ross Front Room!Proctor then has to
run off to confront the Hessian Necromancer in Trenton.
With good luck he manages to catch a ride over in
Washington's boat(not bad for Christmas Eve).

Anyway they manage to break the Spell that draining the Continental Army & thus Trenton is won (take if from
me Trenton wasn't worth the effort  )
Anyway the Necromance escapes & Proctor goes back
to the Farm & marries Deborah..end of vol.II

The final volume is The Demon Redcoat which takes place
a few years later in 1779.Propctor is drug back into the
war effort by Washington who sends him to Europe
with John Adams to stop the Covenant.

Adams hands him off to Ben Franklin in France & from
there Proctor is smuggled into England.I'm 3/4 of the way through this book & Proctor has just escaped from the Tower of London & is now returning to America on Capt.John Barry's
ship.It appears the infamous Dr John Dee is behind the Covenant & he has set sail for America.Oh did I mention Proctor threw a minor demon out of George III (again this
Yankee dirt farmer mingles well)Zombie17.

Back in America Deborah may be under control of the demon Balfri, who is also influencing Banastre Tarleton's actions.

Frankly in writing this it seems over the top but Finlay
knows his revolution time period & brings it all off.Even
having Proctor meeting every noteable figure of the period
is tied together in a logical manner.

RE: Traitor To The Crown Series
Well I finished this upWatchmen02

John Dee is smashed by the Demon he summond,
the Hessian Necromancer is killed by Banastre Tarleton
& Proctor & Deborah are reunited & take care of everything else. They live happy ener after .

The ending seemed to be a little rushed & a few loose
ends, which may be intentional. All in all a good read

Oh the Brits lost :P
