We Lost
Well Mater plunged in & beat me to the showdown,
she managed to get KO plus get two town elders killed which took the Shadow Track below Zero,so the Dryad Won:rolleyes: I not sure where we screwed up as we were playing with the "Touch of Dunich"varient but I don't think it was that, which done us in. The Living Trees we didn't handle well,Mater had a run in with one early on & took a beating, so both of us just stayed from them. This caused the Shadow Track to go down plus some of the Mystery Cards caused Shadow Track to go down also. Both our investigation token rolls were terrible as were our Event or Myster Card rolls (just kept 1-2 coming:rolleyes: ).Then as we were using the DH Cards Harney Jones died & closed his Location, which was the only place you could increase Spirit. (I rather like the Closed idea & kept it in the Varient) To make matters worst we didn't get other cards that might have raised Spirit/Cunning so were both under 8 combined & only a 6 would wound the Dryad. I (Isabella) might have stood a better chance in the Showdown as I did have 2 Tourches/musket and a save wound card than Cooke who had no weapons just the Science Card . We both had purchased the same Lair Card but as Mater had the initative she went for it as we both knew that the Shadow Track would do us in if we didn't try to win . I accused an Elder I knew was evil to mess her up hoping that Cooke would fail & I could then Showdown with a weaken Dryad(we were both at the Dunwich Location) but I never got the chance. This is where the DH Board worked against us, it has some 1 in/out Areas like the Village & the Minions blocked any retreat from the Showdown. A nice game all in all,I think the Arkham Horror boards work well & the Varient conversions seem to hold up. I'm still working on those as when an Event Card calls for something the Varient rules haven't covered, thus the frequent Edits to the Varient posts I'll post up the Session Report Later today. OD PS I think I got both the Dunwich & Kingsport Varients completed, as I just finished going over all the cards involved & everything seems to be covered.I just updated both Varients. Sighing like the night wind and sobbing like the rain,— Wailing for the lost one that comes not again: |

RE: We Lost
Like it was my fault!
I liked using the Dunwich Board for a change, but we both had terrible die rolls for all the game.I also seem to draw all the Monster Attacks, I think I was KO around 3 times. The end game was interesting, the Shadow Track was on 4 & we both had Lair Cards for the Village.OD ,Isabella was on the Village but had gone shopping the last turn rather than go for it.I was able to move the Inspector in & declare a Showdown.I knew the odds were against me but time was running out & I knew OD would Showdown his next turn. I didn't think about the Town Elders & their effect on the Shadow Track so when the Dryad knocked both of them out, that was it:shy:I didn't realize it was over & tried to retreat, thought I couldn't so fought a second round & was KO.The Minion I thought was blocking was not as a road space was open (on the Dunwich Board there small). Later after OD did a Session Report we looked at the Board & realized I wasn't blocked but of course it didn't matter as the Shadow Track ended the Game after the first Showdown combat round. OD is now working on a Lovecraft Varient to use the Arkham Horror Counters & the Arkham Board. I like the Mythos Theme but find Arkham Horror to long & involved for my taste. M This night...I feel your breath This night...I hear your voice!! When you walk my dark path, love like a bloodbath |
