city of horrors
zombie game. 3-6 players. Each player controls a small group of characters. in a 5-6 player game.. that group is 3 characters per player.

characters are placed randomly based on movement cards. bord onsists of big tile areas. each area is a location. movement cards corespond to that location. laying a movement card allows you to move 1 character from any loacation tot he location on the movement card.

game has VERY limited resources, and you need lots of resources to survive. IMHO.. the game designer made it too PVP by throttling the vaccine resource cards too heavilly.. they could have made it slightly more co-op with a very monor rule change and made it a lil more fun for teamwork.

as it is now.. each area is semi fortified. it takes more zombies than the number shown on the tile before an attack happens at a location. ie.. at church.. 3+ zombies need to be outside before they attack. if they attack and are not kileld by the few precious resource cards you may have. the zombies will kill 1 person at each location they can attack. characters VOTE on who gets killed, and vote on how to distribute the meager resources. ties on the kill vote get decided by '1st player'.. ties on loot vote means NOBODY gets it. we had 2 entire turns this happend in out group. it's primarily what caused one of our palyers to lose by having all 3 of his characters killed. the rest of us survived with 1 character each, with one palyer having 2 characters. a lil lessl pvp in the rules on the voting, ad we could have all made it out with at least 1 character. some of the 'cards' are pvp too.. making you waste them.. and it's near impossible to get more cards.

each turn there is an air drop of 1 card and 2 vaccine's usually to 1 location.. that and the 5 cards you start with are all ya got!

game is 4 turns.. ie.. 4 hours till a rescue chopper arrives.. when it arrives, each player discards 1 vaccine per character alive. PLUS you still need 1 left over. so if you have 3 vaccines and 2 characters.. you are good. 3 vac;s and 3 characters. ALL 3 die. ( WTF?? )

watchtower location gets to see what the next turn card is going to look like ( where zeds apapear nd move to, and where drops will be ), and MAY tell people the info, lie to them.. but can't show the card.. etc..

each location can only hold a few people.. and if you move to a location that is full.. you bounce tot he city streets/cross roads.

I felt thay could have done alot more with the game. made it a hair more coop, and less PVP.. to make it more fun.

in fact. they could have added a half page to t he rules for a coop mode with a few minor changes.

high quality cardboard chits and board tiles.. side A and B for advanced palye. I can honestly not imagne how side B would turn out. on out 5 player game.. we had 15 characters.. 5 made it out... 6 could hve if the voting rules were a lil different... on side B.. I guess maybee 1-2 might have made it out.

guess they made it out to be a typical zombie movie wher ehte humans don't cooperate, vs working together..
