By Melissa Marr-her first adult novel(she has a kids
series "the Wicked Lovely"-I never heard of)

Anyway, this is a really creepy little tale,it's Zombie
(Hungry Dead) but it's also a mystery & not your
usual plague background.

The story takes place in Claysville an obvious
sister town to Woodinvale,a whole lot of
LNoE background is in this story.

Claysville,a town with secrets & whose founders
made a contract with Death. It has it's advantages
but if the Dead are not cared for they walk. The
town has 2 hereditary offices who handle this .The Undertaker
(male) & the Graveminder (female) the are co-dependent.

The town has a Council which knows some secrets
& the general population which never seem to notice
the occasional happening.

The first 2/3 of the book deals with the new Undertaker
& new Graveminder discover what their jobs entail.
The final 3rd deals with the Killings & the mystery
surrounding,which has some unusual twists.

It's one of those stories where your getting toward the
end & you don't see how the Aurthor can tie it all up in
the pages left .(King's last Dark Tower Novel comes to
mind).But it's worked out in a logical manner &
provides a satisfactory closure.

The book also provides an interesting take on the
the after life. This is well worth the read.

"Sleep well, and stay where I put you".

Wailing for the lost one that comes not again:
