Howdy all! So...playtesting of the expansion of 'Hunting the Night: Tactics for ATOE" has signalled a flaw! it turns out that the amount of cards in each Corner Location is pretty 'large' compared to the amount of tunrs a player can spend flipping over those cards. That being the case, often you can go a good amount of games without ever seeing a chance at using a tactic!! Well, that;s no fun.

So....

I am testing out a simple add-on rule:

"When using Tactics in your game, there is a new 'Action' to select, if one desires: SEARCH. When on a corner Location that has a Tactic card, the Hero may, after encountering the space, spend 2 I.P.s and roll one of the Hero's Skills for a 5+. Success means the hero may look through the Draw pile, select the Trigger or Objective card, reshuffle the draw pile and place the Trigger in his hand (if a space is available) or discard the Objective without encountering it. If desired, the Hero can now select the normal Tactic Action during this turn to trigger the Tactic (if they have the needed cards).
"The proper Hero Skill to roll depends upon the Location: (SPIRIT: The Olde Woods, The Monestary) (CUNNING: The Windmill, The Inn) (HONOR: The Manor) (COMBAT: The Abandoned Keep, The Forgotten Island)"

(Optionally): Just for fun, having certain Allies can help a hero Search of a location (no cost in IP to attempt the roll):
The Manor: Lucy Hanbrook, Delani or Selena
The Abandoned Keep: Jack the Servant Boy, The Scarlet Shadow
The Olde Woods: Ben the Watchman, Franklin the Old Hound
The Windmill: Carla the Blacksmith's wife, Coachman
The Monestary: Brother Darrius
The Inn: Abigail Sturn
The Forgotten Island: Familiar Cat
