Ok the situation is:
Your on your last danger for your artifac
your danger involves a cunning test or fight
you choose to fight
you and the bad guy double ko each other
so my qustion is:
Are you ko'ed and collect artifact plus glory
and lose a d6 worth items
or
just collect glory and your ko'ed and loose all danger
progress toward that artifact and loose d6 worth items
this question is for the basic play style game if it matters
Had a chat with my other half Kath, who is also my gaming partner and we both agree that the second result should happen -
Glory - yes
Lose D6 worth of stuff - yes
Artifact - nope!
You were KO'd before you could open the final chamber etc. to get the artifact and will have to venture back their another time.
Thats how we ended up playing it but just wanted to ask
actually, if anyone gets in this type of situation again, I found the answer
on the Faq page of the rules book.
Which states that yes you do get all glory AND Artifact but you have
to still roll to see if you keep the artifact from being Ko'ed.

Personally, I think they way we feel it should be played and the way you played is better, so I can see a house rule coming on.
well just because we played it that way, lol, doesn't mean that's
how I wanted it to be played. I was the one this happened to, and
I would have won the game if I would of been able to keep the Artifact.
I knew I had read somewhere that I could keep it, but at the time
I couldn't find it and everyone else voted I died and didn't keep it,
because we couldn't find the rule stating otherwise.
Looks like you found it, but to recap this is what should happen:
You are KO'd and returned to your home city.
You collect Glory.
You collect the Artifact.
You lose D6 stuff.
Roll a D6 for the artifact: 1 - 3 Lose it, 4 - 6 Keep it.
I would say that the only exception to this would be Artifacts that require an additional fight after the last danger is completed. Like ...Of the Dead where your you have to fight and defeat zombies. If this were the case, then you would get sent home, collect glory, lose D6 stuff, lose your progress for the Artifact.
