I've got two cards, the first card played is a zombie event card during a zombie turn. This card is titled, "This could be our last night on Earth." The description is as follows: "Play this card at the start of the Hero turn. Choose any Male and Female pair of characters in the same space. Both characters lose their Hero turn (may not do anything at all - they do not need to fight Zombies there)." This card was played while two characters: one male, one female were on one space. Immediately afterward the following card was played by the female hero character on that space: "Immediately cancel any Zombie Card. or Make a Zombie Re-roll its Fight Dice."

Do you think that the second card should have been allowed to be played based on the first card's description? (The first option was chosen on the second card).

Thanks for your replies!
Playing Hero Event cards doesn't have to be done as part of a Hero turn unless it says that it does, so "This Could Be Our Last Night On Earth..." has no effect on whether such a card could be played. Therefore, it certainly can be used to cancel the Zombie card.

. . . Also, I'm pretty sure that "This Could Be Our Last Night On Earth..." has to play played during the start of a Hero turn, not during a Zombie turn, not that it matters.
Twilight has it right.
Also, generally event cards are held by and played by Players, not Heroes.
And finally, when you play one of the various 'cancel a card' type effects in response to the card (which is the normal time to play them, unless cancelling a 'remains in play'), this prevents the card from taking effect. Cancels aren't "undo's", they are more like "prevents/counterspells". So even baring the other factors mentioned above, a cards effect won't occur until after the players have, at least implicitly, decided not to cancel it.
