I have read through the instructions, and have not been able to discover if a player (hero or zombie) can play and keep an card labeled "event" or if they must discard it after it is played.
There are some very overpowered event cards. If they are not required to be discarded, it can really unbalance (or significantly increase the power of a player). If they are discarded, then the player would need to draw another card to do the event again (there are multiple cards of the same event.) At first we tried to keep the event card and replay them, but the zombie player had the opportunity to roll 3 dice on fights instead of 1, which was pretty crazy. We then played with discarding them after using it, and that seemed to make the game flow in a more balanced way.
Anyway, this was our first time playing the basic game rules, so any clarification on the event cards (either holding them in your hand and replaying them vs. playing once and discarding them) would be appreciated.
