You're right about Kenny. Which is too bad because if he is not played there is no chance to say "Oh my God! Those undead bastards killed Kenny!"

with that ability you could simply assume that he died at any time in the game... because that would happen very quickly...
My group dislikes custom heroes... but i think they add a lot of replay value...

Very hard choice.
I love Stacy, because I love the chance taking aspect and ignoring taken over can seriously change games. And if the Zombie is silly enough to put a spawn pit in the gun shop it's game over. Voted for her.
I also love Rachelle, in basic start games (no bonus cards or search tokens) she's amazing, teamed with Anderson they are ridiculous.
Mr. Goddard, gotta love the gas station and Johnny with Mr. G. It's just flaming death all over the map. Pulling heroic events back out is amazing too.
My custom would be my Scout class character (think the kid from Walking dead, only a juvenile delinquent)

Trespasser: Can move through walls. Costs d3 movement to go through a wall, choose not to after rolling by paying 1 movement. (scout a way out, then take it.)
I know where that is: can give up a move action to place a free search token on a random building. (do not re-roll for taken over or lights out, place it anyway, do re-roll for destroyed buildings.)

Kenny, for me..i like the challenge oftrying to keep him alive...

Our group is also guilty of ostracizing poor, dorky Kenny. I think he may have been picked once. Maybe. People just aren't drawn to using him.
