I've noticed that, on posts, you can give somebody a +1 for their rating/reputation. What exactly does this even do? I was always kind of curious as to what effect that has.
It's e-penis more than anything. At low levels, it does help us when determining if someone should be be given membership. If newbies have +reputations, we're far more likely to fast-track them.
Just in general, if you see a GREAT post, +rep it!
You can also rate someone for their overall contributions in the Rate User section of their Profile.
You can also give someone a Negative Rating the same way (which is rather a no no) which I've
seen generate conflicts on other Forums(which is why many Forums turn this feature off) but
in general TZG members are very responsible with the system.
(Which explains why I've been stuck at 19 Rep for over a year)

You contribute way too much fun to this forum to be stuck on 19 for a year!
+1 rep to correct this egregious error!
I've always taken each +1 rep as a complement. I usually give them out for painting posted on here that has shown good effort and/or technique.
