I needed this today (not that I'm attempting to do custom center tiles or anything), but each square is 1-3/4". The center tile, being 6x6, is 10-1/2" square -- except it's slightly smaller to fit together properly, so a little can be shaved off each side. Mine measures 10-7/16". Each of the corner tiles, of course, is the same dimension as the central tile, except that they have nine of the 36 squares cut out.
I might post a PDF soon, for printing. I've got one, but I'm not sure it's worthy of sharing.
