Lol. Imagine the Magical Doc Brody teleporting to the barn from the hospital to cause an effect, only to run back all the way before the end of a zombie turn.

I do understand your concern. Personally I think it could work fine within the bounderies of the general LNoE rule mechanic where players are allowed to use event cards on other players or the game as a hole completely unrelated to the position of each player character.
I'm looking forward to this, as well. Definitely hoping for some new minis - even if you end up not using them as actual heroes in a game, it would be fun to have the mini representing the saved townsfolk instead of just the token.

Imagine getting one of the Townsfolk Event cards, then using it... to help the very same Townsfolk in hero version. LOL! So, it could be like having Doc Brody come by to heal Doc Brody.

holy moly if they do all the townsfolk that's gonna be a fair few extra heroes to choose from, perhaps they are planning to release some of these townsfolk heroes in the upcoming expansion to be released later this year, i vaguely recall reading that the expansion will have 2 "new" heroes, perhaps it will include some townsfolk heroes?
