okay friends,

so we were playing our usual Sunday Night LNOE using the new TP expansion with SF and running the Mountain of the Dead Scenario and a question came up regarding the new experience system.

so, Ed Baker was holding off the Police Station (with two wounds and an infection marker) in the space without the generator, but had become surrounded by 4 zombies.

he had upgraded his melee abilities with the Combat Prowess card, but has not boosted it yet. once in this perilous situation, he, of course, was inclined to do so.

the wording of the Boost, was contested between the Hero and Zombie players.

the wording reads:
"The Hero may now also spend Experience Tokens to gain 2 extra Fight Dice each."

now, the bulk of the Heroes thought this meant that for each experience token that Ed spent, he would get two more dice for the rest of the game. the zombies thought was probably less than accurate considering that on the Rush of Combat card you spend 2 Experience Tokens to get only one extra fight die.

but the question ultimately came to how long does the card pertain to? the fight? the turn? or the entire game?

I mean there are some really powerful cards, maybe this is just one of them?

for game play's sake, we settled on a turn (Ed killed off the first zombie and unfortunately/fortunately only managed to fend off the remaining three.)

after the fights had been resolved, the only answer I came across online was the Board Game Geek Thread.

we played with that ruling (that it's per fight) for the rest of the game (zombie win by discarding the hero's last card with 4hrs to spare...)

thoughts?
It allows you the option to spend an experience point to get 2 additional dice for that ONE fight...it does not allow you to keep it through out. So he would have to spend an experience point in each of his 4 fights to gain just +2 dice for the fights. This is a nice card but you have to be able to kill a zombie to get an experience point to really benefit from the boost.
