Avid, ...I mean avid LNOE player, I've done quite a bit of various things to change up the game...
To the point I think the game is hardly recognizable anymore...
In current pursuit of building my own board game with elements I've learned from this particular game and infusing it...
All the while I keep coming back to LNOE with my girlfriend, friends, etc...
There's a lot of concepts I would like to share, and I've done a lot of editing to make things look nice.
Example is the "Elite Hero" idea with custom cost abilities.
Elite Heroes are designed to cost: two dots a piece per use.
(in accordance with the dot system for balance)

Also have their own unique variant item cards. The Elite heroes thus have starting items that do not count as part of the "item/weapon" total...
And have their own EXP, each dot counts as one exp needed to purchase:
