just watched last night.
post civil war.. .. basically, magic rituals from secret scrolls which turn up time to time throughout history, are used to reanimate dead. from there the dead plauge spreads via bite. this outbreak takes place at the end of the civil war... Basically, some guys attack a young girl, she's killed, her sister brings her back thru the ritual.. and the plauge slowly spreads.
