My apologies if this was already answered somewhere, but according to the section in BitF regarding "Adding Zombie Champions to any Scenario" (pg 9):

...giving the Heroes a free starting card each if using Feral Dead (3) and Behemoths (1), or 2 free starting cards each if using Feral Dead (6) and Behemoths (2).

It then mentions for those using the Dot system, that Feral Dead (3) and Behemoth (1) is one Dot, and Feral Dead (6) and Behemoths (2) are 2 Dots. I read both of these together as one hero starting card is equivalent to one Dot, and 2 hero starting cards is equivalent to 2 Dots.

However...

According to Survival of the Fittest, Hero Starting Cards (1) is 2 Dots, and Hero Starting Cards (2) is 4 Dots. So the number of Dots for Hero Starting Cards is different between BitF and SotF.

Anyone know if this is intentional, or meant to be identical between the two?

By the way...LNoE continues to rank as number 1 in a family of 8 since the first release...great stuff!
I can try to review my rulebook tomorrow. Might end up being a question for Jason C Hill.
Just wanted to let you know I went ahead and send a message to Jason Hill on BoardGameGeek and I emailed Flyingfrog so hopefully we get an official answer soon.
Thanks ad!
BitF Rulebook pg 9 states:
"Give the Heroes 1 Free starting card each if using Feral Dead (3) and Behemoths (1)."
"Feral Dead (3) and Behemoth (1) are 1 Dot each."

So having Feral Dead (3) is 1 Dot
Behemoth (1) is 1 Dot
= 2 Dots.

That's the equivalent to Hero Starting Cards (1) = 2 Dots
It then mentions for those using the Dot system, that Feral Dead (3) and Behemoth (1) is one Dot, and Feral Dead (6) and Behemoths (2) are 2 Dots. I read both of these together as one hero starting card is equivalent to one Dot, and 2 hero starting cards is equivalent to 2 Dots.

Note the And there it's not an or so it's implying that 3 feral dead AND 1 Behemoth are one Dot not OR...
In Growing Hunger, Hero Starting Cards (1) was worth 1 Dot.
But since then, it has been changed to 2 Dots.
I concur with DrkBlueXG.

In "Survival of the Fittest" page 5, it has a green box that says: "This replaces the Hero Starting Cards (X) entry from the Growing Hunger Expansion."

In order not to get tripped up, I actually put a sticky note in my Growing Hunger book covering up the old definition there with a reference to look at Survival of the Fittest page 5, where it now shows "Hero Starting Cards (1) o o"
