OK,I am a Mythos Junkie & will buy most any Game with a Lovecraft theme. Well not totally true, I do resist anything that duplicates
an existing Game I own (Like why purchase "Witch of Salem" when
I have "Arkham Horror" but it still doesn't take much for me to pull the trigger
So I just ordered The Cards of Cthulhu even though I have Elder Sign
also a card & dice game. Cards is a tad more focused than Elder Sign
as your Minions are all associated to a specific Old One your trying
to stop from awakening .I like this touch as many Mythos Themed
games throw a grab bag of Minions at you unrelated to the GOO
your playing against.
Cards give you 4 GOO's & you play against all 4 to stop their
Cultist from summoning their GOO. If a Cult is allowed to get too
powerful they can activate more powerful Horrors. The Game
mechanics are straight forward & it's a Solo Game that can
still be played by up to 4 players

This is basically a Kill the Cultist game so your not solving any mysteries but it handles
the usual Mythos stuff Sanity, Spells, Items ( some of which are cursed & work against the Investigator),
Gates, very well in keeping with a Lovecraft theme.
To tell the truth the real pull the trigger point for me was one of the GOOs was Arwassa (The Silent Shouter
on the Hill) I have never come across a Mythos Game with that GOO.The only reference to him I've ever
found was in an old Chaosium RP Adventure Book .
