This is my 2nd Game of "City of Thieves "AKA New Jerusalem.
I'm setting up the Board this AM, as I'm using my Solo Game
Rules it takes a little time,as I need to randomly :

-Place the 24 treasure chests & 15 Exploration Tokens
-Select the Thieves Gang to play*
-Determine which Board side each Gang enters & which
Gang Member starts in which entrance/exit location.

* In this Scenario Mission 1 of the Gangs has Mandatory Members.

Here's the Background:

The other Guilds concerned about their losses to the Thieves Guild decide to
strike back they convince the Duke to place the Militia at their disposal. They recruit
the Mercenary Isabeau as their Captain & the Necromancers Guild has captured the master thief
Sienna & placed her under a strong compulsion spell to fight against her brothers & sisters
of the Thieves Guild.
The 1st Hour


As the Curfew bell tolls & the Street Lanterns are extinguished Kaldern's Gang waits on the East
side of the District to begin it's fortnight assignment in the Soma District .Kaldern finally
satisfied things are quiet gives the signal to go they will sweep the nearest buildings.
Kaldern goes to the Fortune Tellers Guild & finds a chest.Its lock sticks when he tries to
pick it.

Sayrs moves to the Red Lantern Tavern discovers a chest & picks the lock & finds a gold Armband.

Tortok-enters the house of a wealthy merchant finds his treasure chest but can't get the lock to open.

Elsie-goes to the Library & carefully explores the place.


Waiting on the West side of the District Isabeau gives the order to move out.The thought of
combat always stimulates her. She hopes the 2 Militiamen Kormak & Valrut assigned to her band
are worth their salt. She also worries how Sienna will behave & if the compulsion spell on her
is indeed enough to actually fight her fellow Thieves. She moves down the street looking for
any Thieves.

Kornak-is sullen at being placed under command of a mercenary. He stays put.

Valrut-heads west looking for thieves but wishing he was conducting his familiar rounds.

Sienna-moves into the city the compulsion spell driving her to find Thieves.

The 2nd Hour

The Thieves continue to look for plunder unaware their being hunted.Elise turns her attention
to the chest in the Library & picks its lock but it contains only 2 Ducats

Kaldern is now able to pick the Fortune Tellers chest & gets a Gem & a Ducat.he moves on to
the Taverns storage building.

Sarys-moves to the room of Sighs find a chest but fails to get it open.

Tortok tries again to open the wealthy merchants chest & succeeds getting a Gem & a Ducat.

The Patrol continues looking for Thieves .Isabeau moves West & passing a house sees Tortok
she moves in & attacks him.Torok is suprised but manages to drive Isabeau off & she flees
back down the Street.

Kornak reluctantly moves out at a glacial pace

Valrut continues his leisurely stroll Westward.

Sienna moves by the magicians Tower & hears Elise within her compulsion spell goads her
on as she enters & attacks the Thief .Elise reals from a critical hit & flees through
the Magicians Chamber losing her 2 Ducats on the way.

The 3rd Hour

The Thieves still unaware of their danger look for more loot.Sayrs attempts to open the chest
in the room of Sighs & this time it's success she finds keys & a Ducat.She then proceeds to
the Guard Room.

Tortok moves from the house he plunders & see Isabela down the street & moves to attack her.
Catching her with a powerful blow she recoils & flees once more,raising a hue & cry.

Elise goes to the Architects Guild finds & opens a chest gets scrolls.

Kaldern finds a chest in the Taverns Storage room but its lock resists his efforts.


The Patrol continue to hunt down the Thieves .Kornak decides to check in on the Guard Room
& maybe catch a nap but when he enters he sees Sayrs & attacks.He overcomes her & she flees
out the side door losing her gold armband.

Valrut stops & listens hearing Isabeau warning cry & sounds of fighting from the Guard Room.

Sienna-Spell driven passes the Taverns Storage Room & spies Kaldren & enters to attack.
She defeats the Thief who runs away losing a Gem from his loot.

Isabeau recovered from her fights with the big Squamata Thief Tortok turns & goes up the
street to continue the combat.This time Tortok gives away dropping his gem.

The 4th Hour

4th Hour

The Thieves hearing Isabeau Hue & cry to her patrol know their not alone but continue with
their mission not wanting to come up short for the Guildmaster.Sayrs moves to the Blade Guilds
HQ & seeing a chest picks the lock & finds a gem & a Ducat.

Tortok moves out into the street heading south he notices Sienna in the Taverns Storage room
but just assumes she freelancing so he passes on to the Magicians Tower.Discovers a chest
on the ground floor & picks open the lock getting a Gem & a Ducat.

Elise moves to the street by the Guard Room & sees Kornok through the open door & quickly
moves on noticing an open window on the Magicians tower 2nd Floor she climbs up.Entering
the chamber she sees a chest & upon picking the lock finds a Gem & a Ducat.

Kaldren goes into the Architects Guild but finds it already looted & moves on toward the
Bath House.

The Patrol after finding the Thieves begin to close in,Isabeau moves South & passing the
Magicians Tower notices the 2nd Floor open window & climbs to to check it out.She finds Elisa
who she confronts.Elisa can't hold her off & flees dropping her looted Scrolls.

Kornak seeing Elisa running by the Guard Room follows her & attacks .It's a close struggle
but Kornak delivers a critical Hit to defeat the Thief.Elisa flees again as Kornak grabs
her remaining plunder a gem.

Valrut hearing the combat heads South toward the noise.

Sienna leaves the Tavern Store Room & moving down the street notices Tortok through the
open door of the Magicians tower her Compulsion Spell kicks in & she enters & attacks.
The big Thief is caught off guard & drops a looted Gem & flees.

The 5th Hour

The 5th Hour

The Thieves realize that their the targets of a sweep & hurry their efforts to secure loot.
Tortok sees Kornak outside the Guard House & slips into the building via a sidedoor.He
sees a chest & picking its lock finds a Gold Armband & a Ducat.

Elise moves into the Library seeing a chest she attempts to pick its lock & fails.

Kaldern also notices Kornak in the street but when he's not looking his way moves into the
Bath House.He finds it chest & gets the lock open finding a set of Keys.

The Patrol having cornered the Thieves in the South part of the District move in,Isabeau
hearing noise in the Guard House enters & finds Tortok & attacks. Tortok is overcome &
Isabeau takes his Gold Armband .The big thief runs into the street.

Kornak moving down the street notices the Bath House door ajar enters & finds Kaldern.
He attacks & forcing the the Thief to flee & dropping his set of keys.

Valrut sees Kaldern run down the street past him so he moves to attack him. Kaldern
simply wants to get away but cornered by Valrut fights back & send him running.Valrut
hides in the Guilds Blades HQ.

Sienna leaves the Magicians Tower & sees Tortok down the street and closes in to attack.
The big Thief is again defeated & flees losing 2 Ducats through his ripped pocket.

The 6th Hour

The 6th Hour

The Thieves are in real danger their leader Kaldern sounds the danger whistle. Sayrs
determined to to increase her loot takes a chance & tries to open the lock on the
Goldsmith's chest.She succeeds & gets a Gem & a Ducat.Not pressing her luck further
she heads to the street & out of the District.

Tortok hears the danger whistle but hates to get out when hes got no loot.Instead he
goes to the Taverns Storage Room .Finding a chest he smashes it open getting a Gem
& a Ducat,then he to leaves the District.

Elise likewise has acquired no loot for her nights work so she pushes her luck
to explore the Library in the hopes of finding something of value.Instead she
trips & falls into a book case & it in turn wobbles & falls on her trapping her
legs.

Kaldern knowing the two militia men are close by shrugs his shoulders & slips off
into the false dawn ,knowing it's been a bad night with only a few Ducats to show
for the night.

The Patrol continues to canvas the District but finding the Thieves have vanished.
Isabeau discovers Elisa trapped in the Library & arrest her.

The Guild of Thieves Headquarters

The Guildmaster finally ends his 20 minute upbrading about the messily loot the
Klandor Gang has placed before him.He than to further show his displasure proceeds
to elaborately count our each piece.The 3 Gems will bring 6 Ducats,the set of keys
another 2 ducats & dropping each on the table 9 Copper Ducats. The total he announces
in a loud voice is worth 15 Ducats.Now he deducts the 3 Ducts necessary to bribe
the jailor for Elisa release plus he asses the Gang another Ducat for their share
of the cost to have the Necromancers Guild remove their curse on Sienna.Then
the Guilds cut of 25% leaving the Gang just 5 Ducats . Kaldern takes the money
& the gang heads to a nearby Tavern where their Ducats should buy just enough grog
to numb the memory of their Nights.

The Ducal Palace

Isabeau turns in the recovered loot amounting to 8 gems,2 sets of Keys,2 gold armbands,
a set of scrolls & 27 Ducats. She values the haul at 49 Ducats & submits her promised fee
of 25% at 13 Ducats. The Duke appears shocked & says the agreement was for 10% & hands her
5 Ducats. Isabeau having no other choice takes the Ducats & leaves silent cursing the duke
& vowing revenge.
