Nothing sounds simple about 'biological anthropologist'!!
Welcome, we're glad to have you here! Colorado's a great place, but can't say I've ever been to Durango.

Durango feels like paradise sometimes. A great place to be.

So, given your profession, and your obvious love for weirdness (you are HERE anyhow)
What do you think of the 'starchild' skull?

Haha, I know this one… While first impression is pretty flooring, it is not that strange of a specimen, I have seen others equally as strange. What is so striking about this specimen is how closely it resembles the pop culture interpretation of aliens. Although deformed, it is clearly human (I won't get into the genetic reasons why it isn't some sort of alien-human hybrid). It has all the bones in all the right places, just a bit warped. We get some odd skulls in the lab. Some are intentionally deformed, some are pathological.
It is nothing more than a child’s skull with a high degree of posterior cranial deformation.
Search online for cases of hydrocephalus, and you will see some funky stuff!
