My live opponent always use E in following way:
He finishes his turn near several zombie, and during zombie turn, when I moved all my creatures toward him he uses E and moves them on the next square, aftewards uses dynamite. etc
Is he correct?

The Extinguisher can be used at anytime, so yes the way he is playing is correct.
The Extinguisher is useful for scenarios like "We Gotta Get Out of Here", where the zombie player will be sending his zombies at the truck and you can clear the way without fighting!

I had to go and check that bit because I have only ever used the E to move zombies away.
Hmm, maybe somebody would prefer just to cancel the fight and not move the zombie but I personally can't think why.
The E is far more powerful using the move part, especially if you have dynamite or a shotgun!!

This has come up in our games. When you honestly don't want to fight or cannot afford to fight and not pushing the Zombies back a few squares is not going to help your position any. Having that option has been a life saver for us. So I actually like the option there.
