Well, I was reading over at BGG a post linked from over here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/5439321#5439321
about the possibility of future expansions based on the fact that new promos are starting to make their rounds. Linked in that discussion is a geeklist of a guy and his discussion with Jason of future expansions. Yes, there are expansions on the way. Here's what Jason had to say (the link should take you to the right spot on the geeklist, but if it doesn't start reading at 30):

Let's just say I'm pretty sure we now know where the "road out of town" will be headed.

Very kewl. Very excited... more board varity is always good, and the extra unique L shaped pieces should allow people to come up with some pretty awesome custom scenarios.

Great news. Even though I personally would have liked to see first of all a more urban city L-shaped boards. Appartment complexs and a big mall.
I´m sure that they will be awsome anyway. There were also a hint that there is more surviors to come in one for the newest expansions rulebook if I remembered it correctly.

If you look at the L Shaped Boards of IFOS, it has a road that leads into town.... called the road into town
