Great movie purchases, Trev! I think you will like the Resident Evil movies. They have what a lot of movie reviewers called "stylized action", i.e. improbable acrobatic moves, slo-mo action sequences, etc. but the stories are fun and there is a ton of zombie killing action.
Oh, and Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter are very easy on the eyes...

Well so far I watched the 1st Resi film. I liked it, well worth a watch. I watched 28 Days Later again on Blu ray and had a blast. I forgot how good that film is! I just watched Planet Terror with a group of friends over pizza and I've gotta say it was rock bottom. Everyone thought it was terrible. Confusing vacuum of a plot, poor acting, childish script. One of the worst Zombie films I've ever seen. I know it's meant to be tongue in cheek and OTT but we just found it annoying and boring... Avoid.

i know im late in posting,but everyone seems to cover every favorite of mine of the various z genres! was really fun reading and remembering the scenes in my head though!

I also just saw this thread and most of these have a special place in my heart. There are a few I haven't seen that definitely sound like I NEED to see them. All of my favorites made the list (28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, the Romero movies, Planet Terror and so many others I won't sit here and re-list) except one.....Dead & Breakfast. Unless somebody mentioned it and I missed it. I absolutely love that movie. It's an over the top, gory, campy B movie with some wild humor and some interesting musical elements. If you haven't seen it, give it a shot. Here's the imdb link for more info.

By the way, somebody mentioned the scene from Dead Snow with the intestines and the zombie hanging over the ledge.....That was an awesome scene! Probably my favorite from the movie.
