I'm curious if anybody knows of any tutorials on how to make scenery and such for the game boards? I want to make some custom boards for LNOE, but I'm faltering at the creation task. I'm sure it's no easy feat but I see people making some awesome stuff. Are you guys just graphic artists or is this a hobby you guys picked up on making your stuff. I tried some techniques I saw online like making crumpled paper and I just can't get it to work. I tried making pavement and uuuggghhh it looked like a grey spot covered in multi colored turds...

You may want to try using a mapping tool rather than photoshop. Applications like campaign cartographer or Dundjinni (if it is still around) may make it a bit easier.
