Who's going to be around for the zombie apocalypse - Sarku - 09-20-2009 03:14 PM

Zombie Apocalypse is coming next week for the X-Box... it's only $10 and with multiplayer... awesome!

Just tried the trial game of Zombie Apocalypse and didn't really like it. Graphics are pretty good but I have always disliked the Robotron/SmashTV control system of the moving a stick in the direction you want to fire. Give me a good old fire button any day.

I found that in some cases where I thought I had pointed the stick in the direction of a particular zombie, I had actually missed and also the diagonals seemed unresponsive.

The playing area is very small, though very atmospheric.

Can't see me paying out 800MS for this....though maybe it is a better game in Multiplayer?

I also tried Warriors: Street Brawl. This is basically a Streets of Rage/TMNT sideways battler. It was okay but not amazing. More than once in the small I found I had to move forward to progress the level and was immediately hit and knocked down by an foe off the screen, very frustrating.

So, again can't see me paying for this one.

Tried it... one hit and you're dead... wasn't too impressed. That sucks. Oh well.

Actually, most common zombies won't kill you in one hit. You can shake them off by mashing the left stick around. There's a bunch of other kinds of zombies, though...they pretty much all kill you in one hit. Still, I actually found Zombie Apocalypse pretty fun, and ultimately worth the investment. Multiplayer doesn't really change anything, though, so it would only add worth if the people you play with are people you actually know and like to some extent.

Let me put it this way: It's a decent value when you consider Left 4 Dead 2 costs six times as much. Not a great value, but decent.

I've been playin it on my PS3 and I like it.
It's mindless fun. Only downside is that there are only a couple of different levels and that kinda makes it repetitive quite fast.

Cool bunch of zombies though. Those workerzombies...damn I hate those Zombie17
And those granny zombies throwing knives at ya...grrr Zombie17
