I'm not sure what you mean.
Do you plan on putting all 3 of these abilities on 1 hero? If so...that would be kind off pointless wouldn't it?
The only thing this would do is give the hero an advantage on ranged attacks but he gets kinda screwed when moving and in close combat.

That's exactly my point. He/she would have to be protected from the zombies coming too close. But, in return can help protect the other players from zombies with the ranged attacks.

Artanis Wrote:I was rolling this around in my head. Since I have not played the game enough yet to get a feel if it overpowers character, can any of you give me your thoughts?

The hero gets two wounds before the third kills him/her

Abilities:
Bulls-eye - The hero can add one to any ranged weapon attack roll, unless a 1 is rolled.

However, to counteract this ability:

Old War Wounds - The hero must subtract one from the highest fight dice rolled.
Bad Knee - The hero must subtract one from his/her movement roll.

I like the idea, I don't think it needs a drawback.

Sharp Shooter - This hero adds +1 to any ranged weapon attack roll, unless a 1 is rolled

I'll add it to the top of this thread if you guys like it.

I like it. Zombie03

I just feel that the ability is too powerful to have without a drawback of some sort. Maybe the -1 roll in a fight is too much, but the -1 roll for the movement might be just the trick. But then, I defer to those with more experience palying the game.

What if the drawback is that only one player per game could use this ability? Or in order for the character to use the sharp shooter ability he/she must give up their movement that turn? This would imply they needed to focus in order to take that "perfect" shot.

I've added the ability to the top of this thread with "optional" drawbacks. Good idea, thanks.

Giving up their movement sounds great as a drawback. I would drop the -1 on the fighting and moving.

RE: Custom Abilites - Collected - LSD - 07-17-2008 07:30 AM

Now that I think about it again, -1 on movement might be balanced enough as a drawback.

And what if you roll 1?

Then you don't move. Easy peasy. Sharpshooter is a very cool ability. I'm kind of reminded of 28 Weeks Later and Doyle was running from the infected and pausing every once in awhile to squeeze off a couple of rounds in their heads.
