Shadows in The Mist
(some bones should stay buried) By Brian Moreland I just picked this up at the bookstore today, as it reminded me of this Thread. Its cover is an SS Nazi Zombie:P It takes place in the Hurtgen Forest & the blurb says "Band of Brothers Meets The Da Vinci Code" OD Sighing like the night wind and sobbing like the rain,— Wailing for the lost one that comes not again: |

Old Dwarf Wrote:Shadows in The Mist Well it seems they weren't SS Zombies they were SS Golems (which is rather ironic). OD Sighing like the night wind and sobbing like the rain,— Wailing for the lost one that comes not again: |

Can thoroughly recommend Dead Snow Ryuk....as long as you don't try to take the film too seriously.
It is a great OTT laugh riot of a film!! |

RE: Nothing Like Zombie Nazis
Ok this is an old thread but...Dead Snow
It looked rather cool but I never heard anything else about it. (I do have a sheltered life of course) Anyway to point...I was channel surfing this afternoon & there it was Dead Snow on the SyFy channel. Frankly the U-Tube clip was the best part the movie itself was just strange. It started out as the typical college students on Spring Break at an Alpine cabin but then begins to just go strange. Perhaps it was because the film was so cut up to make room for the 10,000 commercials but it just didn't hang together. First of all the false scare stranger that shows in nearly all these type of flicks to explain the "Evil" that must not be awaken, didn't really explain anything. So your rather left wondering what goes when the Nazi Zombies show up.....eventually you'll figure it out but not with much help from the plot. Then the fat obnoxious guy goes to the out house to take a crap . While he's on the toilet one of the girls comes out & straddles him & they have sex....my god he didn't even have a chance to wipe! The only better scene is the Zombie crotch bite .The film is rather gory about 75% of the time the actors are covered in blood & entrails are everywhere. So I killed a couple of hours I'll never get back, the Nazi Zombies were however well done & could run like hell. I will say, though, that you shouldn't judge a movie from a viewing on the SyFy network. They butcher good horror movies when they edit them down for content. gc2K “By the time I realized the danger, it was scratching at my front door.” ― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War |

i agree, it wasn't too bad, when viewed whole. I bet it got content edited like crazy if played on sci-fi.

RE: Nothing Like Zombie Nazis
I thought it was a solid Zombie film that deserves a place in the Zombie cannon. I honestly would recommend another watch. I'd give it at least an 8/10.
It's at No.9 in TZG Zombie film rating thread http://www.thezombiegame.com/forums/Thre...rs?page=12 |

One problem is it is very hard for any sequel to live up to Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead. Secondly there is not as much carnage as the earlier movies because Romero concentrated on the dynamics of the relationships between the human survivors. Definitely a good movie though.
