I would love to see a Military Expansion with a cliche squad make-up:

-the stoic leader
-the gruff sergeant
-the gung-ho
-the rookie
-the smartass

It would also be awesome to see a third faction introduced, such as Black Ops or Bandits, who are their own entity separate from zombies and heroes. Instead of being a playable faction, they are simply a game presence that could cause hell for either the zombies or heroes. They could be a random "Play Immediately" and "Remains in Play" Event card that would be in both the Hero and Zombie decks. Whoever drew the card must roll for a random building, which the Black Ops would then raid/occupy and everyone inside must make a save roll of 3+ to prevent being wounded. It would be similar to "Lights Out"/"Overrun" in that a marker would be placed on that building, and a killzone would be established inside and 1 space away from the walls outside the building. If anyone (zombie or hero) ends their move in the killzone, they must make a save roll of 4+ to prevent being wounded as the Black Ops would essentially be shooting at them.

The Black Ops could be represented by 2 Black Op figurines per occupation, which would be black in color and maybe number in 8 figurines total as there would be 2 cards in each of the Hero and Zombie decks. The figurines must be positioned in a way that they have clear lines of sight from all angles (such as placed on opposite corners). The figurines won't move at all, so players can form strategies to try and kill them (they would have 2 health each). If all the Black Ops are killed in the occupied building , then the occupation marker is removed, but the discarded "Occupation" card would be shuffled back into the deck, allowing a continuous threat to the board. The team that didn't draw the card could always play a "Cancel Hero/Zombie" card to remove the occupation, but smart players could use these occupied buildings as traps for the opposing team. Zombies could encircle and force heroes up against the building, or heroes could play zombies into the killzone, hopefully killing them off.

With the greater firepower coming from such added military hardware, the zombie horde would definitely need to be increased from 14 zombies and/or special boss zombies would be needed to even out the field.

Scenarios could range from:

-rescue the townsfolk/heroes (act more as an escort mission)
-construct a bomb
-GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!
-Call in an airstrike (or evacuate before area is decimated)
-Clear out occupied buildings (ex: heroes must clear the manor house that has 8 Black Ops inside, zombies of course must try and kill the heroes to prevent this)

Would definitely like a larger urban map set-up for this kind of stuff!
