Well, I was going to suggest 28 Days Later. 28 Weeks Later was not as good, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it total crap. They tried to make it different enough from the first so that it was interesting, while staying true to the concept/idea. And also, it had Rose Byrne. That up's it a notch in my book.
