I like it because it simulates both sides taking damage during a fight (seems realistic to me). Using this rule, there are now four outcomes from a fight: Hero rolls doubles, beats Zombie fight dice: ZOMBIE WOUNDED Hero rolls lower, zombie wins: HERO WOUNDED: Hero rolls higher than zombie (no doubles): NO WOUNDS (fended off) Hero rolls lower but got doubles: BOTH WOUNDED It does help speed the game along, but it doesn't happen quite as often as you'd think (or like if you are the living). Of course, this rule is really only good if you feel the Heros have too great of a disadvantage. If you already feel the game or the scenario is balanced, this rule pushes the balance towards the hero. |
