Hi everyone! I would like to thank Jeff D for his excellent donation. It will keep tzg.com up and running for about 4 months! If you feel so inclined, please feel free to click on that donation link to help keep the lights on. Much appreciated!

My Storage Solution
I'd like to share my current storage solution for:
  • Last Night On Earth (Core Game)
  • Growing Hunger
  • Survival of the Fittest
  • Hero Pack 1
  • Zombies with Grave Weapons Miniature Set
  • All Web Supplements Available to Date

The first thing I've done is get two Plano 3500 Boxes (I was able to find them at Wal-Mart,) one for tokens the Hero player needs more often, and one for tokens the Zombie Player needs more often.

Top row: Exploration markers, Bio Canisters & Money, Sewer Markers, one-of-a-kind tokens, Townsfolk.

Middle row: 2 3 and 4 space barriers (the 4 space are laying flat underneath the others), Ammo/Armor, Gas Markers

Bottom row: Supply/Barrier Reinforcements, Wound Markers, Dice & Red Circle Marker.

In the Zombie box...

Top row: The tokens for Grave Weapons that don't have a dedicated miniature (and whatever happens to be on the reverse of those tokens), all the normal zombies, Zombie Heroes.

Middle row: A-D markers, 1-9 Markers, Door/Locked Door and Toxic markers (note: there is no divider between these because the toxic markers are a little too big), Grave Weapon markers that have a miniature to replace them.

Bottom row: Extra Zombie Spawning Pits, Dice, Yellow Circle Marker and Zombie Betsy (just because).

Top layer: I used an Xacto knife to cut down the solid wall between each of the last two compartments on the bottom row and the middle row. I cut it down enough that I can place the Lights Out and Taken Over tokens over the top, and the lid closes firmly without leaving very much wiggle room.

I got a couple of "dice bags" - a reddish colored one to hold all the specialist zombie miniatures, and a grey colored one to hold all the hero minitures. I used the plastic zip-lock that the original miniatures came in to hold all the "scenery tokens."

I'm using a series of Ultra-Pro 2-Piece Card Storage Boxes to store all the game decks. I'll talk about those more in a bit, but you're seeing two thirds of the combined hero deck in the above shot.

Now we begin to box it up...

The stacks of Scenarios and Heroes are placed two corners, the bag o' heroes and the large box of hero cards (100 count box) go between them. My "sun tracker" is on the far right edge of the box. Down the middle of the box you can see my bag of special zombies, and plastic bag of map scenery tokens.

The remainder of the cards are in 50-count Ultra Pro boxes. One for the rest of the hero cards, and 3 more for the zombie deck split into thirds.

On the left side of the box, the two Plano boxes stack on top of each other, and above them I have four 25-count Ultra Pro boxes containing: Grave Weapons, Advanced Abilities, Unique Items, and Survival Tactics.

I've re-packaged the Soundtrack into a slim jewel case instead of the tall jewel case. (I had to leave out the back paper insert, which I left in one of the expansion boxes that I don't bring with me when we play.)

When I set this Jewel case on top, it makes the entire top layer pretty much even.

Next, I cover up all that stuff with instruction booklets. This is important, because these instructions are acting as a buffer to keep my game boards from getting scratched...

The boards rest on top. I alternate directions on the L shaped boards to minimize the chance of them getting warped by pressure applied to the box lid.

Slip the lid down onto the box, and this is what I end up with. It doesn't close completely, but it closes "enough" and allows me to tote the game around in "one box." (Actually I'm using the lid of LNOE and the bottom piece of Growing Hunger Expansion, just because I felt like mixing it up.)

Not included: Timber Peak and Blood in the Forest. :-)

I hope this was interesting or helpful. All my friends want me to tote this game with me whenever I come over, so I invested quite a bit of time figuring out how to arrange it for optimal portability.
