RE: Mansion of Madness
Well, just had our first game tonight and both Kath and I enjoyed it immensely.
One really good point, over other FFG games we enjoy, was the time. Even with the times I had to re-check the rulebook and the odd mistake, the whole game took about 2-2.5 hours (most FFG games take us 3-4 hours and more). This is due to the Event Cards and the Time Tokens, there is a definite end, which is very good. One thing I know will please Old Dwarf is that the monster choices are tailored to each scenario, so no random monsters as in Arkham. The game played well with Kath controlling 2 Investigators (well, 3 after 1 died) and myself as the Keeper. I also think the game would be great fun with a group of players, in fact Scenario 5 is designed to be played with 2 or more Investigator players and cannot be played with just one. Personally, even after one play I can recommend this to any Horror game fan, especially those into the Cthulhu Mythos. |
