Any players here?
I recently got a copy. It is good fun, especialy in co-op with some friends.
I don't like co-op with those WOW mentality gamers though...as soon as theybstart bitching about the game and things you do, I'm getting out of it.

So I was wondering if there are any other players out there.

L4D style Hero deck!

I just played LNoE for the first time the other day when my brother bought it and brought it over. It only took us rounds of "die Zombies Die" to come to the realization that this would be a prefect match for the L4D theme. Since then I've been searching the internets to see if any one had made any scenarios, character cards, and Special Infected rules. Sure enough i found this thread by Little_nikki. This was an awesome find and it got my mind racing with new ideas for a hero deck specifically for L4D scenarios. So after playing a couple hours of L4D2 as "research" I came up with a new set on melee weapons, med items, grenades as well as a few new ranged weapons (which i felt the original hero deck was a bit lacking of). Also have a couple additional rules to be used along with the deck/scenarios.

so Here goes (have not yet play tested with these new cards, they are still ideas, so let me know what you think):

Melee:

Baseball Bat - Works same as original bat
Cricket Bat - May be used to *Daze* a Zombie in a fight causing them to roll 1 less fight dice. breaks on 1-2
Crowbar - same as original
Frying Pan - May be used to "Knock Out" a Zombie you can avoid one fight on a roll of 5+
Electric Guitar - Same as other guitar
Fire Axe - same +*sharp
Katana - *ninja speed* Grants the ability to attack and then continue moving (Like Johnny's Blitz ability) +*sharp
Machete - same as Cleaver +*sharp
Tonfa(Police Baton) - Allows hero to roll 2 extra fight dice but cannot cause a kill on doubles
Chainsaw - Same +*sharp

If your wondering what *sharp is about it works as a mechanic with a new event card to be included in the deck called:

"De-Cap" - Play after winning a fight dice roll while carrying any *sharp weapon to Decapitate the zombie for an instant kill.

Another Hero Event card I've come up with is:

"Headshot" - Play during and firing roll to add 1 to any 1 shot dice.

Grenades:

*all grenades have a range of 3 and can be be used in place of a Firing round

Pipe Bomb - Causes all regular zombie to have a +2 hunger towards the affected space. The pipe bomb Explodes at the end on the next zombie turn, Inflicting 1 wound on all zombies on that space.

Bile Bomb - Causes +2 to the affected space same as pipe bomb accept may be thrown at a target (erg or special zombie) and hits on a roll of 4+ causing the target to be come "hunger-able" (so any erg zombies will follow the affected target with a +2 hunger)

Molotov - Sets fire to targeted space and each surrounding space until the end of the next hero turn. Any figure passing through an effected space takes 1 wound for each space

Main Ranged Weapons:

Sniper Rifle - Range 5
Sniper Scope: Kills on a roll of (1+target range)+
Ammo check 5+
*cannot be fired at point blank (so can't shoot zombies on the same space as you)
eg: if the target is 3 spaces away hero must roll 1+3 = 4+ in order to get the kill

Assault Rifle - Range 4
Burst fire: Roll up to 3 shot dice kills on (2+1per target)+
*may be fired at more than 1 Target(up to max of 3) on the targeted space at a cost of +1 accuracy
Ammo Check 3+
eg: If the hero chooses to fire at 3 targets on the space space kills occur on a roll of 2+3 = 5+

Uzi - Range 2
Spray and Pray: Fires in frontal cone roll 1 d6 for every Target in the affected area kills on 5+
Ammo check 4+
eg:	o o H o o
o x x x o
Offhand Ranged Weapons:

Dual Pistol - Range 3
Double shot: allows 2 shot to be fired per round Kills on 5+
Ammo Check 2+

Magnum Pistol - Range 3
Kills on 3+
Ammo check 4+

I've only put a little bit of though into the zombie deck that will counter this deck but on card i know will be in there is

"Friendly Fire" - during a firing round if a hero misses a shot any heroes between the Firing hero and target take 1 wound - Remains in Play

I've also got items in mind like the Defibrillator, Pills, and Adrenaline shot, but they only work with special scenario mechanics that i won't being getting into the this already very long post. So please give me feed back. What do you think about these new weapons, what adjustment do you think should be made, how about some ideas for the zombie deck to counter these new items!

Hey guys, I am having a blast doing movie reviews for the board. I like remembering all of the movies I've watched plus this gives me an excuse to watch even more horror movies for my "research".

Anyway, I know that a lot of people have strong opinions about specific movies and I thought a nice feature to add to my posts would be second opinions from guest reviewers.

This goes for either of my current movie review posts - the zombie movie post or the general horror movie post. If you read my review and think I am way off base (let's say that your numeric score for the movie is at least 1.5 different than mine on the 0 to 5 scale) please reply to the post and include your own score and review. I will copy your review into my original post so that future readers can see both reviews and receive a more well-rounded view of that film.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Side note: I added Grave Encounters (2011) to the horror movie list and two movies to the zombie movie list: Spoiler (2011) and Devil's Playground (2010).

Hi all.
Just thought I should introduce myself here.
My name is Daniel ad I come from the not so sunny UK
I have just turned 40 and feel every day of it sometimes!!

I have played many "standard" games for years now but happened upon Last Night On Earth recently.
The game is so thematic that I got hooked instantly, so thought I should look up some more variants as well as other game options.

Hoping I get some great ideas from here and I get to make some new allies.

Thanks for having me.

I've had an idea for a long time for a Slasher Movie style board game. I've seen various ones done as PnP or self printed to varying degrees of success, but none that ever succeeded 100%. I've often thought the LNOE "engine" would be a good framework for one, but obviously with a little tweaking. Since playing ATOE & FanG I see rules designs in each that could also be borrowed to solve certain design problems.

Right now it's just rough ideas in my head. I have so many other projects I don't even know when I'll fiddle with it. But I thought it would be fun to throw out there for discussion.

Oh, & if FFP is interested in MAKING such a game I here by legally release all rights to said idea to them. I'd even donate what ideas I have thus far. I just want to play the darn game that doesn't exist yet that I have lurking in my mind!

Hi everybody. Long time LNOE fan from wayyy back, when copies first started leaking into circulation after Gencon. Had to stop playing/buying games in general for a long time, but lifestyle changes over the last year (which were both bad & good) did leave me with more time & money at least, so I've picked back up my old hobbies & rejoined BGG (since my old account got deleted) & this seemed like a good time to join over here as well.

I haven't been playing much LNOE. All the fig's have been out of circulation while I finally painted them. I was finally able to pick up ATOE & FanG though, both of which I'm madly in love with at the moment & been playing a lot.

FanG is up next for paint & I just pimped it out with a generous helping of custom bits over the weekend. I was going to do ATOE next, but I keep pushing it back due to the amount of detail involved on the mini's. I want them to be as sharp as possible.

I want to pimp ATOE as well w/ mini's for the Villains & maybe some "set decoration" like I've already done w/ FanG. As soon as I get a home PC again I'll get some pic's of all my projects w/ the digital camera & share.

Anyway, look forward to talking more about some of my favorite games w/ the fine folks on here!

Big fan of LNOE and I'm happy to see so many others are as well. I only started playing a couple of months ago and have only experienced about 5 or 6 sessions, but I own all of the expansions for the game and I'm looking forward to playing them as well (I've only be using the base set so far).
Are there other players in the Boston, MA area?

When I started painting my zeds (FF originals) I set out with three different skin tones to distinguish the three different sets (base game + GH); blueish, greenish and greyish. It didn't really work as intended. Once the minis hit the board they sort of just melted together. Adding some different flock to the bases did help but I still found it a little too subtle. I considered painting the sides of the bases in various colours but I like the black overall look so I learned to cope.
That was like two years ago.

Now I'm considering reorganizing my undead horde. In my group we never play with more than one Zombie Player (ThEre Can bE OnlY ONE!) so what I'm basically looking for is rebuilding a basic set of 14 zombies (or more) and a set of 7 Grave Dead.

The basic set doesn't seem such a big issue. I could either stick with the "old" minis and/or add some new ones to the bunch. With plenty of excellent threads on minis and dealers in here this task should be pretty straight forward.

However, adding some true Grave Dead ones to the horde is what's making my head spin.

So far I'm considering the following options:

1) Modding the original 7. Since I'm not overly satisfied with my original paint job I don't mind doing putting these through the meat grinder. Perhaps cutting them in halves and change the base to something more graveish like?
2) Getting some new zeds. There are definately some cool creations out there. But how do you pick zombies that are more dead (Grave Dead) than other dead ones? Perhaps adding some extra dead paint or dirt, dry blood? But could this make them stand out from the rest considering I'm still going for a cohesive look?
3) Getting some special themed ones. A friend of mine who happens to be one hell of a painter actually managed to paint 7 FF zeds in distinctive patient/doctor looks to make them stand out as a special unit. However, should I decide to go there well I'd prefer going with some patient/doctor sculpts. I've been thinking perhaps army troops or some nasty clowns. I particularly like the clown idea. Well, I think they are a nasty scary bunch even before they die and Tengu Models have some über cool dead ones (I think I'll be getting some of these anyway http://www.tengumodels.co.uk/page2.htm ), but perhaps the theme is a little too far fetched even for Grave Dead zeds?

At the time of writing I'm actualy leaning towards 1) but alas, here I stand, hoping for some inspirational suggestions, thoughts or comments from fellow ghouls on how to make the Grave Dead ones one hell of a succesful addition to my horde.

Hello all!

Just got A Touch Of Evil about a month ago and I fell in love instantly. Such great atmosphere with lots of replayability and ways to tweak and tune the experience. It's a really cool engine that's easy to modify and come up with homebrew ideas. My mind has already been churning around a few mechanic ideas and several Villains that will be fun to flesh out in the months to come.

And...on to the subject at hand. I've become quite obsessed with good storage and organization solutions and I knew I'd want to come up with an efficient way to store ATOE to make setup and breakdown as quick as I could, just to make it that much more pleasant an experience to play it. Often I can get by with tossing the original insert and making a new one from foamboard and buying a Plano box, but with ATOE and Something Wicked...that wasn't gonna work too easily. So I grabbed the Hobby Lobby art case that I'd originally bought to store Arkham Horror(I'll get to it some other day). And with just a little basswood and ribbon, I managed to fit everything in there nicely and logically. With, fingers crossed, room for "The Coast" and the Hero Packs. There's still some room for cards, and a few nooks and crannies to rethink the counters situation when I get new minions and various others. The only element I'm really worried about are the Hero and Villain cards...but I have some ideas on how to rearrange things when I get the expansions and might run out of room.

And since I used the wooden art case, instead of the original boxes, I thought I could add a little more theme to it and woodburned the logo on to the front. I'd never woodburned anything before and was a bit nervous about ruining it at some point and having to scrap the whole project, but it went smoothly enough and I'm really happy with it.

In fact, I was so pleased, I started envisioning putting together other boxes like this with similar woodburned logos. An Arkham Horror box, or two, would be cool as would Last Night on Earth.

How exactly do the numbered markers work in Hunt for Survivors. I understand the roll, but can you roll several times or is the roll done once per marker only?

I use them like an Additional Search marker so the Hero reveals the marker and rolls immediately on entering the building for the first time. I see this as simply shouting "Hello! Is there anybody alive in here?"

It may make thematic sense to allow multiple rolls i.e. as a Search action (with the risk of finding a Zombie Hero of course) as the Survivors may well be in groups. Obviously, the number on the marker will determine how often the Hero player wishes to roll against that marker.
